this is a post for creators, not consumers. (it’s a little bit for consumers, a little bit “please understand that making things is hard,” a little bit “please respect what we do,” a little bit “don’t write it off because you think you could do it, too,” because if you haven’t tried, then you don’t know what it’s like to stare at a blinking cursor and wonder what the right words are, to stare at a line and wonder why it looks wrong, to listen over and over and over to two seconds of music and wonder if you’ve played it too many times or if it sounds as bad as you think it does, to cry when you see something beautiful because you can feel how much its creator loved it and you don’t know if you can love anything you do that much.)

try this: you are a blessing, and all that you create are gifts sent to help, to heal, to make whole. that the world may not see your gifts is no reflection upon you, but a reflection upon the world. it only remains for you to choose what to do with that reflection.
