New month, new timeline!

Destiel trends yet again on this hell of a site after Misha's most recent social media posts, made to celebrate coming to an end Pride Month. The posts consisted of animated gif of Cas, with his wings spread, changing colours to rainbowy reflections and a caption. Instagram post had music - Presley's "Can't Help Falling In Love" - added to it as well. Which caused whole other Twist & Shout related fandom breakdown.

The caption of the posts states as follows:

Today is the last day of #Pride. Spread your wings. Cas is proud of you (and I am proud of Cas).

Fandom overwhelmed with emotions caused by the fact that a) Cas' queerness has been talked about (by the creators) only a handful of times and b) it really was real, and the fandom was right, the angel was gay. The angel was in love with Dean Winchester

Today marks 7 months since 15x18 has premiered. Twitter fandom links that to ongoing pride month and trends DeanCasPride tag there.

Ruth Connell earns bi!Dean truther title because she shared a pride-honoring edit on instagram, showin Claire with lesbian flag, whole edit inluded sexualities, flags and pronouns of many beloved spn characters (Ruth's Rowena with queer sexuality and all pronouns included)

FIRST PRIDE

A Destiel Oneshot

He's just leaning there, watching the colourful pride parade passing by. His face is neutral, but his blue gaze pierces in a way that catches Dean's attention.

So do this man's lips. They look so kissable. Dean bites his own and looks at his friends Charlie and Stevie, who he accompanied to their local pride. Charlie drew the three-coloured bi flag on his cheek, the only outer sign that he counts himself to the crowd celebrating themselves and protesting for equal rights.

It's not his first pride but the first after coming out. First to himself, which turned out to have been the hardest person to come out to after years of ignoring his interest in people who weren't women. Then there was a phase of simply enjoying queer content which his best friend Charlie was only too happy to provide. Then a spontaneous kiss at a work party—not his best drunk decision ever, but Benny had laughed the misunderstanding away kindly.

It's still the only gay-ish experience in Dean's 42 years of life, but Charlie insists that the people you date(d) don't define your sexuality. She's right, of course. But Dean often feels like an imposter. Today is no exception.

The blue-eyed man pulls his phone out of his trenchcoat, frowning at the message he's reading. He looks adorable. Like a confused puppy.

Dean is watching him closely until Charlie nudges him into the side. "Will you go over and talk to him or do you plan to stare holes into his forehead?"

Dean snorts a laugh. "He could be a homophobe for all we know. Who the hell comes to pride in a trenchcoat?"

Charlie snickers. "FBI maybe. He looks dreamy though."

It's not exactly the word Dean would have used, but he looks good. About his age, dark hair tousled, a light scruff framing his cheeks. Dean wonders what it would feel like to kiss over the cut of his jaw.

Sudden movement pulls Dean out of his reverie. The man is unbuttoning his coat and Dean can't draw his eyes from him.

The opened coat gives a free view of a black shirt and a flag with green white and blue stripes.

"What flag is that?"

"Gay men," Stevie chuckles. "You're such a baby queer."

Charlie shushes her. "Come on, Dean. You've been staring at him for minutes now. He's on your team. Go, get him, tiger."

Dean rolls his eyes and hopes that she doesn't see the heat rising in his cheeks. He's good at flirting. A vast line-up of women could vouch for that. But going over to the other man, who is trying to cram his trenchcoat in a way too small canvas bag is clearly another thing altogether.

But he feels his friend's eyes on him and he's many things, but Dean Winchester for sure isn't a coward. So, he takes a deep breath and puts one foot in front of the other.

The blue-eyed man glances at him as he walks closer, still struggling with his task. His eyes flicker away, the poor man looking as nervous as Dean feels. That in turn makes Dean feel better instantly. It's charted waters for him.

"You need to fold it. Otherwise, it will never fit." The other man tilts his head to the side and squints at him. Dean chuckles. "May I?"

After a moment, Mr Blue-Eyes hands him the bag with the semi tucked in coat. It takes Dean only a moment to fold it into a tight rectangle. Finally, his father's stupid military drill pays off for once.

"Here." He returns the bag. "Name's Dean by the way."

"Cas-Castiel," comes the stuttered answer.

"Cass? Never heard of that name."

Castiel chuckles without mirth. "My parents were very religious. It's an angel's name."

"Very fitting then." Dean smirks and leans against the wall. "First pride?"

Castiel shakes his head. "No. I come every year since I've been 30. First year out though."

"Really? Me, too." Dean laughs.

Castiel's eyes grow wide. "You're making fun of me."

Dean shakes his head, the nervousness suddenly back in full swing. "I wish I would."

Castiel smiles, close-lipped but warm. "My friends stood me up. Being alone at pride is a bit sad." His eyes flicker to Dean's again.

Dean gathers all his courage and leans in. "What do you say we go together?" he whispers in Castiel's ear, not missing the shiver the closeness sends through the other man's body.

"That would be nice."
