Please take some time to fill out this survey--it will be essential and instrumental in our fall planning. Thank you for sharing your time, enthusiasm and ideas. Do grade harshly and honestly--giving all 5s won't help us select. At the end, there is an opportunity to submit potential panel ideas for voting in the summer.
A More Profound Con is coming back for a second online event in November--and we need your input!
As a fan-run convention, we want to cater to the fandom’s interests.
In light of that, we’ve put together a survey to help make the November 5th-6th convention as fun and interesting as possible. We’ve included multiple examples of panels and activities that may be included based on your input, and there’s space at the end to make your own suggestions.
Please take a minute to fill out the survey, and then share this post (and retweet it on Twitter) so that we can get the best range of responses!
Teenage love
"I don't know, Dean. You really think I look cute in this?" Castiel asks, checking himself in the shop mirror from all angles.
With anyone else, Dean would simply roll his eyes, but this is Castiel, his best friend, who he has crushed on since he smiled at him during Truth or Dare at Benny's birthday party four months ago.
The Winchester brothers have never stayed long enough anywhere to build friendships, much less for Dean to get romantically attached to anyone. But when they ended up at his uncle's house once more, Bobby insisted that their father wouldn't pick them up until both finished high school.
And that's how—for the first time in his 16 years—Dean has a regular teenage life, always food at his disposal, friends, and a big fat crush that sends butterflies through his stomach and knots it tightly together. Sometimes, both all at once. Because here's the thing: Castiel comes from a rich, powerful family, and it's a miracle that he steeps so low and drags Dean along wherever he goes—fancy, boring garden parties, the woods that belong to the family estate, or his shopping trips to the local mall. Now and then, he even buys Dean something like a new shirt, just because he thinks it brings out his green eyes or his freckles.
Dean hates camping…
Dean curses under his breath. It's too damn dark to find out the reason why Baby gave up working. She didn't sound good before her engine gave up the ghost.
Castiel and Dean had been on a hunt for days, happy to be heading home through this moonless night. And now this!
"She won't start running just because you're shouting at her," Castiel points out, holding the flashlight and shining it in all the wrong places. Not really, but Dean needs someone to blame, and his boyfriend is the only available humanoid right now.
"Oh, really?"
Castiel sighs. "Let's face it. We're stuck till morning. Let's get some rest."
Dean grumbles something unintelligible and lets the hood fall down. The bang shatters through the eerie night. Eight more hours, and they would been home. They could leave a trail of clothes on the floor of their house and fall asleep right after wrapping around each other. But no. They must get stuck in the middle of nowhere with no phone reception and no dwelling to be seen far and wide.
Of course, it's not the worst thing ever happening to them. Far from it. But sometimes, Dean just wants a bit of luck, now that God is a toddler he calls family and not some douchebag playing with him and Sam as if they were tokens on a board game. But no such luck.

Love is like a crock of gold
Dean lets the keys fall into the key bowl that his tidy boyfriend put on the sideboard in their entrance hall. His bag slips off his shoulder, crashing down with a loud thump. Castiel will scold him for getting just another dent in his thermos bottle, but Dean is too tired to even care. His last client was a nightmare, taking double the time as being slated for, and if he's absolutely honest, he just wants to curl up in his bed and sleep for two days straight.
It's been a long week, and sending Castiel the don't-wait-for-me text hurt more than he is willing to admit. Work is eating him up and spitting him out, and his boyfriend gets the unsavoury rest. Dean knows he lets out his frustration on Castiel. Last night they fought so loud that Mrs Mosley hit the ceiling with a broomstick.
Dean doesn't want to fight, but he can just imagine what is waiting for him beyond the hallway. Anger, maybe? Or the silent treatment? Friday nights are holy. Were holy. Now he crashed date night thrice in a row. Whatever Castiel will unleash on him, he deserves it.
The most beautiful scar
"No. Don't!" Dean says, grabbing Castiel's wrist to keep him from sending healing grace into his bleeding hand.
Castiel frowns. "Why not? The cut is deep. It will probably scar."
Dean moves his hand from Castiel's wrist to the angel's hand and smirks. "I hope it will. You patched me up so many times, I can count the scars left on my body easily, all of them acquired since you've been gone. But this one? It will remind me of my luckiest day."
A small smile dances on Castiel's lip as he watches the handkerchief wrapped around Dean's hand slowly soaking with blood. "Is that so?"
"I've got you back, man. Biggest win in the universe in my books."
Castiel's eyes light up and glaze over simultaneously. "You defeated Chuck?"
Dean stares at him for a long moment, then bursts out into laughter. "Yeah. A couple of months ago. Sorry, that we couldn't pull you out earlier. The Empty is a piece of work."
"How…?"
"Doesn't matter, Cass. Main thing is—you're home."
Castiel looks around the bunker dungeon, memories of black goo flooding his mind. "Where's Sam?"
"With his coven. We needed quite a few witches willing to save you. That's why it took us so long. Sorry, man."
"His coven?"
Dean chuckles. "Do you really wanna talk about Sam right now?" Castiel tilts his head to the side, watching him with narrowed eyes. Dean blushes under his intense gaze. He needs to look away, his eyes getting stuck on their joined hands. "I thought you might wanna kiss me or something," he whispers.
An eerie silence falls between them, and Dean feels like dying. No worse. Did he misunderstand Castiel's passing words?
He glances up after what feels like an eternity and finds Castiel's eyes wide with hope and happiness, his lips fallen open. Dean chuckles in relief and runs a thumb over the chapped skin. "I love you, too."

Thank you for reading. 💙💚 Check out my stuff on ao3.
One year ago I wrote my first piece of fiction and published it on ao3. Nothing could have prepared me for the support I received, the friends that I made, and the sheer joy, but also the challenges writing for the Shadowhunters and Supernatural fandoms would bring into my life.
I'm so grateful for everything my writing and my fandoms have added to my life. I can't wait to see where it leads me in the next 12 months.
