💙 Registration is open for A More Profound Con! 💚

A More Profound Con is a fan-run convention focused on celebrating fanworks & creatives in the Dean/Cas fandom. We held our first convention back in March, and we’re thrilled to be back with an even bigger event this November!

The convention will kick off on Friday November 4th with a live recording of the wonderful @mixtapebookclub podcast and a painting party with the fantastic @winchester-reload, then last the whole weekend, with two days full of panels and workshops featuring numerous artists, authors, meta-writers, podcasters, creators, and thinkers in the Destiel fandom. Your ticket will admit you to you any and all of the panels, and you’re welcome to pick and choose which to attend based on your preferences. Recordings will be available for all the panels except for those limited to attendees over the age of 18.

Read on for more details, and be sure to share this post, and our announcement on Twitter! When? November 4 - 6, 2022 (check the schedule for time-zone friendly specifics) Where? Everywhere! The convention is virtual, running through Zoom Events (excepting a few 18+ panels, which will be hosted on Discord), so you can join in from wherever you’d like.

How? Register here! Just make sure to set up a Zoom account first--the only way to access your ticket and join the con panels will be via a notification inside your Zoom account. This is not your granddaddy's Zoom with plain ol’ links, so don’t forget! Additionally, if you’re planning to attend any of the 18+ panels, make sure you have a Discord account as well. We will be sharing a basic guide to Discord soon--if you are brand new to this platform, that's okay.

Is it free? It sure is! That said, we’d love to help raise funds for The Trevor Project, Random Acts, and True Colors United, and in the spirit of that we’re running another charity raffle. Every $1 donated equals 1 entry into the draw to win some amazing fandom-related prizes--details coming soon! If you want to enter, just make your charitable donation to one of the above organizations, then send a picture of your receipt (with any personal information blurred out) to ArgyleBestiary on Twitter.

AMPCon is looking for panelists & moderators of color!

After our mini-event in March, we received some feedback about our mainly white speakers–and we agree! That said, we often don’t know the background of our fandom creators & thinkers, so we need the fandom’s help to diversify our list of potential panelists & moderators.

We’d especially love to feature more panelists & moderators of color at our upcoming virtual event on November 5-6, 2022, so if you’re an 18+ author, artist, meta writer, or fan of color in the Destiel fandom and would like to be involved, please get in touch with us via [email protected] to let us know your area of interest (be it art, fic writing, meta, cosplay, fan craft, or something else) and to volunteer as a panelist or moderator.

Volunteers will be involved in an hour long Zoom panel on November 5 or 6, in addition to at least one rehearsal prior to the event.

While we can’t guarantee that everyone who expresses interest will be given a spot in this event, we do intend to have more virtual and in-person events in the future, and will of course reach out to anyone who may be interested down the line.

A More Profound Con is returning!

On the weekend of November 4-6, 2022, we're planning for a range of speakers and topics to celebrate our fandom's creators.

Hotel desposit for a fan-run SPN in-person con? Yes, please.

AMPcon is raising funds for a 2023 in-person event to take place Nov. 4-5. A hotel deposit of $1000 is due soon for a venue in Cincinnati, OH. ...right now our Ko-fi is at $619 thanks to 27 donations & 7 monthly gifts. Thank you so much--we are profoundly grateful and excited. As a thank you, every Ko-fi supporter, big or small, will get a free reserved tix to our online event. This includes supporters who have already given or who will donate going foward. We are probably going to charge $5 or $10 for that online event, with generous scholarships available. Still, a bargain, plus a chance to vote for cons that center transformative works and celebrate our brilliant fandom. (And remember AMPcon is an all-volunteer effort and registered non-profit so any funds leftover from our events will be donated to Random Acts and The Trevor Project) We will be doing a Kickstarter a little later in the summer once we have a firm budget--donating to that will be the best way to assure yourself one of the limited spots for the 2023 in-person con. A More Profound Con is coming back for a second online event in November--and we need your input!

As a fan-run convention, we want to cater to the fandom’s interests.
