:3 hiii ummm this may be a weird question but what are misto & vic's music tastes ,,, are they similar? different? do they fight over the aux cord or is there like, one song that they totally bond over? ;w;
Since I tend to headcanon Victoria as deaf Iâll stray a bit from the question but I do in fact have Thoughts about the siblings and music :]
Since Victoriaâs deaf she canât hear the music itself, but in songs with heavy bass she does enjoy the vibrations she can feel. When it comes to picking music when the two of them are in the same car itâs usually one of Mistoâs playlists that features songs with some type of bass and then Victoria cranking the volume up enough for her to feel it. Mistoâs music taste can be summarized in the singular word âyesâ
Because of that thereâs not really any fighting over the music, but Victoria sometimes jokingly calls music Misto listens to boring if there isnât any bass in it
Since classical music tends to not have much if any bass and a big part of ballet is classical, Victoria has a little bluetooth thing (I havenât decided exactly what it is, Iâm not (yet) knowledgeable enough to know what this thing is called or if it even exists at all) that gives little pulses that helps her keep the beat when dancing. Dancing together is a huge bonding thing for them, but the focus tends to be on the dancing itself rather than the music for obvious reasons. Misto does have emotional connections with certain songs because they remind him of a choreography theyâve done
Another aspect of the siblings relating to music is that Mistoffelees uses music as an auditory stim quite a bit. Heâs often listening to music, and sometimes has the same song on repeat for hours, both to help him focus and to give him some kind of control over the background noise. Around public spaces and people with differing music tasted and/or people who donât like listening to the same song on repeat he wears headphones, but he greatly prefers to have it on speaker. Since Victoria canât hear it, it doesnât annoy her like it does a lot of other people, so when itâs just the two of them he tends to have it on speaker. Itâs one of those small things that seem insignificant, but Misto values it a lot
I'm here to ask your favourite monochromatic siblings hcs! And also how do they get along with each others partners? And is Alonzo related? And if you hc Vic as deaf, do they speak sign language to each other?
*throws questions like confetti* tell me everything!
Alright buckle up!!!!!
My favorite headcanon for them is that theyâre not actually related. They met each other when they were pretty small and made an instant connection because they both had their own grievances with verbal communication and both speaking sign language, with Misto being mute and Vicky being deaf. They quickly realized just how well they clicked and instantly became best friends. It didnât take long for them to start referring to each other as their sibling, either
Also, theyâre the exact same height, to the millimeter (in human AUs they shared clothes a lot when they were younger, but their fashion tastes quickly drifted very far appart)
I usually donât think of Alonzo as being related to either of them. They do get along and dance as a trio from time to time, but theyâre not all that close
I have a few different partner headcanons for them, so Iâll make a little list :]
Platoria: Mistoffelees gets really well along with Plato. They donât really spend a lot of time around each other without Victoria also being there, but when they do itâs usually either spent in comfortable silence or pleasant small talk. With Plato learning sign language so he can talk to Victoria easier, itâs usually pretty easygoing
Victeazer: Mistoffelees and Rumpleteazer get along very well in the way that Misto tries to hide that he loves pranks and general mischief, but both Teazer and Jerrie are great at coaxing it out of him. Heâs actually really close to her, and considers her one of his closest friends. Teazer even asked him for tips on âwooing your sisterâ because of her stupidly huge crush on Vicky, and while he did get a bit protective due to how notoriously Teazer gets in trouble, he did give her some pointers and has given her the âbrotherly stamp of approvalâ as she likes to call it
Tuggoffelees: Victoria thinks Tugger is super cool and charming at a glance, and thinks heâs secretly both a gentleman and a gentle soul once you get to know him. They have a similar sense of humor and a similar way of engaging with the world like itâs their oyster, and both find that being around Misto means they donât have to fill the silence, which while they enjoy doing it, can get exhausting. Theyâre quite close friends
Cassoffelees: Victoria doesnât know Cassandra as well as she knows Tugger, but holds quite a bit of respect for her, partially due to how quickly she both decided to and did learn sign language after meeting Misto. They occasionally practice dancing together and chat about anything and everything, but they donât really have any deep conversations
They most definitely speak using sign language with each other! Victoria does speak, and doesnât have many qualms doing so, but if whoever sheâs talking to also knows sign language she tends to switch back and forth between speaking and signing, cause sometimes when you know more than one language, you can think of the word you need in one and not the other. With Misto, she leans more heavily to the sign language side of things, but she does speak with him, too, especially in times when heâs having trouble with eye contact or otherwise canât see her sign. If itâs not a magic-less AU, Misto will occasionally use his magic to spell out what heâs saying in the air with sparkles, but thatâs only in very specific situations, like when theyâre stargazing and he doesnât want to force her to look away from the sky. He much prefers sign language. Related to this, in CATS as cats universes, Jellicles have their own sign language which mostly uses different dance moves to communicate :]
Victoria: What do kazoos sound like?
Mistoffelees: *thinks for a bit*
Mistoffelees: [Imagine that clowns are their own separate species and that they hatch from eggs. The sound a hatchling clown would make is what kazoos sound like.]
Victoria: [That makes perfect sense, thank you.]
