Okay, so I have seen asexual pirates being immune to sirens, but what about deaf pirates? Representation for disabled people and for asexuals. Also, showing both being BOSS is an added bonus. ALSO, also, Asexual SIRENS. Like, a Siren watching all of their buddies start acting all flirty and luring people in and just sitting there like "Ugh, all of you are repulsing. Like, could you take this away from me ? You can do it, but just stop when you're near me. Please and thank you." Or the siren flat out refusing to sing people to their deaths because "Thinking of sex is gross" or whatever. Don't forget, TRANS sirens. Like, a male siren being born female and sings really deep and lures in FEMALES instead of males because logic...? Or a male siren wearing frilly things to look more feminine and either singing like a pro and luring all those men in, or using their feminine wiles to lure men in (some versions of myth say that there either aren't male sirens or that male sirens can't sing sooo). Homosexual sirens. Gays being immune to the siren song. Lesbians being lured in by sirens. Underwater Centaurs instead of your run of the mill mermaids. Mermaids that are part krill, or shark, or eel, or squid, or jellyfish- just really unique mermaids. Mermaids that get stranded but have to make prosthetics. The old belief that only women could do witchcraft being applied to trans characters: a woman born a guy doing some wicked magic basically. Representation. I think about this all way too much.
