When: Present Day
Where: Star City - Park
With: Floyd @deadshctx
Chuck was taking advantage of an overcast day with a decent headwind and had pulled out of his nicer bright yellow kites to fly. He’d gotten to the park early and using his knowledge of wind found the perfect spot to cast. He threw the kite up and it easily caught, rocketing into the sky while he let the sting go. When he flew his kite it felt like time didn’t move much. He could stand there for hours just watching the wind pull the kite too and fro. It was nice, numbing... Charlie had been playing so Chuck didn’t want to pull him from his games and had left him in the house.Â
By midday the clouds had parted and the sun shone hot; enough to have him pulling his jumper off leaving him in only a tight vest and jeans. He pulled back against a particularly mischievous gust when two woman who’d been jogging by stopped and looked at him. Without thinking he raised a hand and smiled, wiping some sweat off his forehead and, suddenly, the ladies came over and started talking to him.Â
He must’ve been chatting with them for a while, one of them kept touching his arm and the other laughed a lot, especially when he moved behind her to give her a go on his kite. It was a nice way to spend the afternoon but he was soon distracted by a familiar face looking over at him. “Floyd!” he called, waving an arm and asking the ladies to watch his kite while he jogged over, “How’re ya doing buddy!? I haven’t seen you in ages! You look great!” he said, putting his hands on his hips, “Wanna come talk to my new friends? They’re real nice.” he asked, gesturing back at the two women who wiggled their fingers coquettishly.
