thought about mistyjackie/jackiemisty/deadnurse a little too hard and now i have an au in my brain where misty woke up in the middle of the night to pee and got jackie out of the snow before she could freeze to death or get major frostbite (girlie loses a finger or two but other than that. she's fine! i swear). jackie is so grateful when she finds out that misty was the one to get her up that she ends up doing little things like helping misty when she has to go get logs for the fireplace to make her time in the wilderness easier. also jackie ends up being misty's little assistant in all things medical due to spending so much time with her. eventually this culminates in jackie and misty catching feelings for each other and jackie facing the fact that she's on the aroace spectrum (comphets a bitch) and that she was in love with shauna and that shauna hates her so she has to move on if she wants to keep her heart safe (yeah i know. ironic since her girlfriend is a murderer in the og adult timeline but. that's her girl in this timeline <3). a few weeks after this realization jackie comes out to misty and confesses to her that she likes her. misty, who caught feelings almost immediately, is absolute ecstatic at this revelation and they get together after making out while on water collecting duty. the rest of the team doesn't realize they're dating and just think that jackie is really grateful that misty saved her from possibly dying until post rescue when they hear that jackie moved in with misty and her parents after the taylors disowned her (it's complicated and i might dive into this at some point later).
