We were in the Kapalua airport on our way to the Big Island. We saw the Gar sitting at the gate and said to each other is that Jerry? But we were so hung over we decided to confirm after getting some fries. We went back and there he was looking like a tourist with a mesh bag full of snorkel gear! We all had a quick chat with him and then took this picture. Only one of us wound up on the flight with him and ironically she was not a Deadhead but appreciated the experience for sure. She sat in the row in front of him and got to chat. It was definitely a magical trip on many fronts and getting to meet Jerry made it all that more special” . . “Two weeks later I was in front of Jerry at an Oakland show wearing the same hat and I yelled Kapalua!
