Close Quarters - Geist & Abrams
Body wracked with fear she was frozen in place as she tried to calm her breathing. If she kept sounding like some huffing animal they would find her. Just when she was starting to feel dizzy from the adrenaline and fear, strong arms came up and wrapped around her. Jeanne felt her body be pulled towards the Detective. The smaller woman let it happen, not that she would be able to stop him if she had tried. Abrams was built like a brick wall with his broad shoulders and muscular arms. Having fully pulled her into him the pair could hear the footsteps growing closer to their hiding place.Â
Holding her breath she closed her eyes tightly, Geist willed the men to move past them. One of Abram’s arms moved from its place around her back. Turning her head and looking over her shoulder she saw his arm was raised and hand pointed through the veil. More importantly it wasn’t just his hand pointing, it was his gun. Abrams was protecting her from the danger that lurked out there. It made her heart constrict in her chest. From his body language she could not tell that he was scared, the only reason she knew was because her ear was pressed to his chest and his pounding heart was the only chorus she could hear. Geist’s face turned so she could see his face again, his dark eyes searching for any sign of danger.Â
