These aren’t in a particular order!! I either love or hate my gifsets equally! <3

Marisa Coulter + text posts. Honestly this is what I’m best at. Making everything but quality content. This gifset started off as a basic text post gifset however when I put the gifs together I noticed some of them are colorful so I went back to ps and colored them all so that they make a rainbow. I’m happy with it.<3

Marisa, the monkey + Circe quote. Honestly, I love and despise this one in equal measure. I love it because of the idea I got when I read this quote and how it fits them so well and because of how happy I was to execute that idea. The rage Marisa unleashes upon her daemon is like a knife she uses upon herself. Her daemon is her soul, her essence. She wants to cut him off because for her, he is the source of all the “troublesome” feelings and urges in her (giving in to Asriel, in to lust). Her separating from him is her desperate attempt to remove him as something that is just a physical extention of herself when he is her and she is him, really. They are one being in two bodies, so she struggles. I despise it because I grew sick of it (just as I do with any gifset I love in the beginning). The coloring was A PAIN and I wish it was better. If I recreate it one day, I promise it would be better.

Marisa Coulter in blue. I just noticed most of my gifsets are Marisa-related and I’m not even surprised. There’s no special creative process behind this, I put it just because I’m quite proud of the coloring. 

Marisa + Lyra + “in your heart there was regret”. This is one of my first blended gifsets so don’t be surprised to find that it’s not blended at all. I was re-reading TAS at this point and I wanted to make a gifset with this quote so badly. The first gif is so ugly is all about the hugging scene, which in my opinion caught Marisa off guard a bit. I think Ruth played her interference of emotions pretty well. How Marisa relents until she finally accepts the hug was really interesting to see. I think it might be a very good reference to the “mustard seed” quote from chapter 31 of TAS. It might have been the point where she realizes she probably underestimated her feelings for Lyra. The bathtub scene where she just stares at the empty bath might have been her just contemplating it, but also not, maybe I’m just dramatic. However, I do believe that there was regret in her, she was just very well at hiding it (until, probably, the “we should have married” scene). The last gif hurt, I’m not going to lie.

Chaos family + Greek deities. I HATE THIS ONE SO MUCH. I know this is supposed to be a list of my favorite creations and in terms of concept and idea, I really love it but in terms of everything else, I wish it didn’t exist. I came up with the idea at some point (?) and in the beginning it would have been the Olympian gods, as a lot of people do, but I decided to go for the minor deities because no one talks about them! Marisa as Apate. In Greek mythology, Apate represents deceit, manipulation, cunningness, lying and deflection. I think it fits Marisa pretty well, because she went through her whole life manipulating people to get what she wants (she even manipulated her own child). She is cunning, she uses her beauty and sex to deceive people and trick them into giving her what she wants. Lyra as Astraea. I think this one is pretty obvious. Though, many people argue that Lyra is annoying, I think regardless of that, she is exudes purity and innocence. Another idea I had for her, was Aletheia, goddess of truth, which would fit for obvious reasons especially with Aletheia being considered an opposite number to Apate, but I went with the original. Asriel as Zelus. Many would argue Asriel is equivalent to Ares, god of war, but I wanted to give him a personality aside from wanting to fight God. Asriel isn’t necessarily a jealous person, he is a possessive one. He takes his work and knowledge seriously and there almost isn’t a man whose ambition can stand next to Asriel’s. He is zealous and rivalrous because his ambition pushed him into a literal war against those who don’t agree with him, those who want to hold him down and keep the flow of science and knowledge frozen. Now that I wrote all this I feel better about the gifset itself but do read the original tags for more info.

This is so long, oh God. Anyway I’ll be tagging some people who might have already been tagged so I’m sorry.
