Dearest Lucy,
My apologies. I might be mistaking your mother with that of another friend's. This past winter was, after all, a particularly harsh one on many people of middle age or greater. Even so, I wish you and your mother both nothing but the best of health and happiness.
What you say is true about the winter, the grounds keepers have spent much time tending to the gardens in the wake of it. I have even helped with some of the flowers although you mustn’t tell my mother I did so. Thank you for your well wishes. I pray for the health and healing of your friend’s mother. Be well yourself, Lucy
