You have to give props to all these pilots who fly super early or super late at night. Always kind of feel bad for them, but I hear they get paid pretty decently. Anyways, back in Lima, which I guess is always fun. After a rather long nap, i’m finally getting ready for today. Feels weird being back, doesn’t it?
You know, I didn’t think about this before, but it’s the perfect time of year. It’s not too hot anymore, and it’s before it gets too cold to even concentrate. Guess i’m going to enjoy this while it lasts. Anyone else dreading winter?
It's October. Can I get in the spirit of Halloween now?
Guys, I think I broke the microwave...It was working and then it just...sparked and now it won't turn on.

Tomorrow's Wind | Tony & Janika
Janika was bored. She had gotten home from a night shift several hours ago, and while she knew she should be taking a nap she also knew she wouldn’t be able to sleep. She had always had trouble sleeping during the day, though this one already looked like it was drawing to a close due to the clouds that had been rolling in all afternoon. Janika loved the rain. It was calming, and it made an afternoon perfect to read or watch a movie.
So the cloudy afternoon found her sitting on the front steps of the house, book in hand. The breeze was blowing softly and it felt good on her skin and in her hair. She looked up at the cloudy sky, unable to really concentrate on her book. She wanted to do something else, but found herself in that frustrating place of wanting to do something but not knowing what.
Janika stepped outside of the little house, taking a deep breath and noticing how nice the morning was already. The sun was just peeking over the horizon and the air was still cool from the night before. She was not a morning person by nature, and normally she would want to sleep in on her days off. But she knew that if she wasn’t at least a little strict with herself about consistently waking up in the mornings then her entire sleep pattern would be thrown off and the mornings she had to go to the hospital would be miserable.
So sunrise found her standing outside the front door, rubbing at her eyes and clumsily pulling her hair into a messy ponytail before crossing to where she had her bike propped by the front of the house. She knew that some of the other clones had...less than respectable backgrounds...but she couldn’t really make herself distrust them. There was something about the little community that made her feel safe despite knowing that they were constantly being watched by the DYAD institute. Having a common enemy such as the institute made her feel less inclined to be wary of her fellow clones. She knew that she was probably being too trusting and that eventually she was sure to regret it, but the thought was pushed from her mind as she took off riding down the sidewalk.
Janika found that there was nothing better to wake her up than flying down the street on her bike. The cool air on her face was much more effective than a cup of coffee (though she knew she would need one of those before the morning was over too). And it gave her time to think. About her life. About her friends. About her family. And this morning, about her new situation in this neighborhood.
She was so deep in her thoughts that she almost didn’t see the figure walking ahead of her on the sidewalk. “Scheiße!” she exclaimed, swerving off the sidewalk at the last moment, hissing as she bike pedal scraped against her leg.
After steadying the bike she turned to the person she had nearly plowed over. “I am so sorry. I wasn’t looking where I was going.”
