Over time, Roxie fell out of touch with most of her friends, whether they were friends from New York or anywhere else around the world- even friends from London. They fizzled out for a variety of reasons; Roxie was never home, she was never around, she wasn’t the best at texting back, this or that excuse and eventually people moved on with their lives. Roxie had learned not to be bothered by it and figured she just shouldn’t get too attached, as that was how it would end. That didn’t mean there weren’t people that she had once been fond of that she missed dearly, though, and one of those people would have to be Desirae. She had always been- well- one of Roxie’s closer friends that she had hoped she would be able to keep up being in contact with; it just hadn’t worked out so well. Walking down the streets of Crownsville, however, was always met with all kinds of surprises, as she had already reconnected with the woman she had once loved, someone she hoped to love again, and it seemed that the small town had a magical way of bringing people back together in some way or another. The afternoon was particularly warm and had Roxie dressed in a tank top, shorts, and a pair of heels as she walked down the streets and enjoyed her afternoon before she would have to head back to her apartment and change her clothes to get ready for the cover job she was currently working. Bouncing around jobs was exhausting, especially when she had no leads, and the job of an undercover spy wasn’t an easy one. Someone on the other side of the street looked awfully familiar, unable to put her finger on it and instead deciding she should move closer. If they weren’t anyone she knew, then so be it. The closer she approached, the more she could recognize her, and she couldn’t help herself, calling out, “Desi, is that you?!” The shrill, unmistakable voice of none other than Roxanne Lemkova herself pierced the air, and she couldn’t imagine it was a voice that very many people would forget. Grinning and crossing the street to meet her, she could confirm now it was exactly who she thought it was. “It’s been ages, I missed ya! I’ve been meanin’ to text or call, wasn’t sure if your number was still the same! How are ya? What brings ya all the way to small town Georgia?”
