Hi! I hope you don't mind my asking, but how did you manage to get into full time? I heard that it was possible to apply for full time, part time or seasonal after your cp but that full and part time were especially hard to get in to! I ask because I'm applying for the dcp and I'd love to stay on full time and work there (:
Hi! Sorry for the delayed answer, apparently Tumblr doesn’t alert me when I get messages anymore… O.o
Anyway, to answer your question… honestly, I have trouble comprehending it myself, lol. I spent three weeks agonizing whether or not I got to stay or if I had to fly home…. But I will say this: it’s because Housekeeping CONSTANTLY has openings for full-time positions. At least, that’s a big contributing factor. It helps that I was eligible to transfer to begin with (having a clean record and minimal points), and that I try hard to be a good Cast Member to begin with. ^_^ Basically, I had a window six weeks before my Program’s ending to apply for an “internal transfer,” which literally means I went to Casting, got on one of their computers, applied for two roles and five locations each, submitted it, and waited. The waiting was the hardest part. I’m not one to handle pressure well, and let me tell you, those three weeks were some of the most agonizing ones of my life!! I practically danced with joy when I received Casting’s voice mail saying I was accepted and will be transferring right after my Program’s ending.
Also, a few words of advice for your DCP, assuming you get accepted: don’t let the troubles of work and/or fellow Cast Members get you down. I’ve done the Program long enough to know that the majority of the job’s aggravation is not from the Parks or the Guests, but the annoying CP’s and other negative CM’s. It sounds bizarre, but just like any other workplace, negativity tends to travel in herds, particularly and infamously among the CP’s here. But trust me…. don’t let them bring you down. If you love Disney and you wish to stay, by all means, keep your chin up and try your best! Just remember that you are working at a place that thousands only dream of visiting, and it’s a privilege more than anything else. I constantly remind myself that (even when it can become overwhelming at times). Again, I say all this assuming you get in. And even if you don’t now, try again next time and keep what I said in mind. :)
Thanks for your message! Hopefully you’ll see this since I have no way of contacting you, hehe ^^”
