Does anybody who has done/is doing the DCP remember what the recognition cards are called? The ones that fellow cast members fill out for you?
Packing to move to DCP: day 3
One whole trash bag (the mega one) is full of clean, folded donation clothes, and there will yet be another. Though the next one will need to be taken to the laundromat first.
I'm terrified of when I need to get under my bed to clean all that out. I may need to turn over my costume box to the great cosmos of the donation bag. It's heartbreaking but a lot of the pieces are from middle school and I'll never fit in them again. The other area of distress is shoes. I have SO MANY FLIPPING SHOES. It's really rather ridiculous. I keep thinking I'll wear more of them but I never do and my ankle can't handle many of them since the tendon went snap and then repaired. I need to think about the ones I actually wear (my converses, my boots, my good heels, my work heels, my work shoes, etc) and donate the frivolous ones I'll never wear again.
I keep looking at things and asking myself "is this worthy of the move? do I NEED it in my apartment/house? can I part with this and not miss it? is it replaceable?". I'm trying to be as wise about this as possible. So much stuff is just excess. I don't need it all to survive and it just collects dust. I don't need clutter. I don't need two dressers (yes, TWO) of clothes. I should have just enough to keep me warm in cold and cool in heat and comfortable. I'm going to be wearing my Cast Member costume so much of the time, that I really don't need a massive amount. I will be ok if I don't have 5 white tank tops. I will be ok if I don't keep that t-shirt I got for free from Chinatown that one year at chinese new year. I will be much better off.
I figure I must be growing up if I'm slowly releasing the panic attacks building up inside as I get rid of things. Right?
Not yet an hour to my phone interview but pretty close so I'm posting this.
I feel prepared with my questions and random little notes but still nervous and excited. Been bouncing from those two all day. I'll just post pictures on how the series of my current emotions today; Enjoy! and I will see you all after my interview! :D
Bring it on.
