Sunset over Sólheimasandur beach in south Iceland. If you were to walk south for about 45 minutes, you’d reach the famous DC-3 plane wreckage. I really wanted to see it, but Iceland winter weather is no joke; the winds were picking up, snow was starting to fall, we had about an hour of daylight left and I still had to drive though the Hellisheiði mountains (which is probably one of the scariest drives I’ve ever done in the dark). Next time I come back, it’ll be in the spring or summer, and I’ll actually take the hike to see the wreckage. #iceland #blacksandbeach #dc3wreckage #ringroadiceland (at Dc-3 Plane Wreckage)
