Saint Bede Academy is a catholic high school in the Benedictine tradition which endeavors to prepare students for college and for life by welcoming them into a community of learning permeated by Christian values. For over 125 years, our goal has been to provide students with an education that will not only develop their minds, but also strengthen their character while preparing them for life’s challenges.

We are dedicated to developing well-rounded, well-prepared citizens who leave Saint Bede with a lifelong commitment to learning. Through our tri-level academic program, all students are continually challenged to extend their skills and perform to the peak of their abilities. The program consists of an Honors Level, College Prep Level and an Academic level to best fit the needs of the individual student. Our newly built science center gives students university-level classrooms to learn in and prepares them for life at university.

Our goal is to provide students with an education that will not only develop their minds, but also strengthen their character while preparing them for life’s challenges. An amazing 97% of students participate in extra-curricular activities. Our objective is to get students involved. The more they do, the more they learn. The academic environment at Saint Bede encourages students to excel both in and out of the classroom. With over 25 extra-curricular activities for students to choose from, practically every student joins a club or team and not only learns a new skill but gains lifelong friends and confidence.

100% of our students attend some type of post-secondary schooling. Our ACT scores traditionally rank #1 in the surrounding area and many of our Top Ten students graduate with a GPA above a 4.0. St. Bede graduates are recruited by universities through the United States. Class of 2018 graduates attended 36 different universities and boast an average ACT score of 28.

Over the last fifteen years, we've grown into a 75-student strong 38-acre "mini-Hogwarts" castle located across the street from the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. Here at the castle, our students and staff bring vibrant life and energy to self-discovery, community-building, and keeping our curriculum fresh and current. With hearty doses of optimism, adventurous spirit, and the cultivation of leadership skills to develop our talents, we know from experience that we can achieve anything. After all, we named our school after the nearby Middle Bridge, one of three bridges that cross the Narrow River, an inlet where ships used to seek safe harbor and repair. Likewise, our students find a second home here. This sense of home might be because we specialize in customizing education to meet each student at their individual academic and emotional level. We thrive and grow as a community by listening and responding to student interest in our whole-child educational model. This is why Middlebridge School is widely considered to be one of the leading schools in the country for students with learning differences.

Middlebridge is often the first place our students have ever felt a deep sense of belonging. Belonging and respect - and the honest communication that goes with it - extends to parents and families as well. When we welcome a student to Middlebridge, we embrace the entire family in working collaboration toward lifelong student success, confidence, and trust. Because we host these young people only momentarily, we know that our job is to provide a solid foundation.
