The silent heart of Melbourne
7.30 am, sunday 16th of march, 15°C, after a night at a club, in t-shirt and jeans
funny how the gradn prix can fall together with going clubbing for a freinds birthday party
when we left the club at 6 am there was no point in driving one hour back to eltham just to get back the the gradnprix track at 10 to get a good spot
so i stayed. cold, tired and not quite sobber i went for a walk through the waking uo city towards albert park.
as i turned around i realized that for three long month this palce, this city, had held me tight in its grip. no matter how far i traveld i always returned for more adventures.
and even though i had been here for so long this was only the second time i accutally went for a walk.
i felt like i had become a part of the city liek the jogger in the morning or the crazy hoemlessguy that belongs to every major trainstation.
as i walked up the the memorial shrine, the city awoke.
birds sang quietly, a stray tram drove past, street cleaners went their way and as I stood on top of the stairs and turned to the city the distant roar of the warming up F1 engines vibrated through the air.
the pure definition of peace
a feeling of excitement, majestic, charging foreward and pure in a way only a place prepared for something major can feel
so i went my way, alone but now quite, to the race track
