W: Any games you regret getting rid of?A: When I moved the States, I actually didn’t know I was moving here. My mom brought us on vacation after my parents divorced, and then we ended up just not leaving. She had already thought about doing it, but didn’t solidify it until she was actually here. So, I left everything behind that I owned. That included my Famicom with all of my games. I also, recently, had to sell Bravely Default and my Wii U to make ends met. I’m still sour about it.

9. Most regrettable purchase? I would say the Nintendo 64  I got when they first came out. At the time, I’d had so much fun with my Super Nintendo that I believed that the N64 would be a continuation of same. I was also deeply suspicious of non-cartridge based games, because my experience with games on CD-ROM for my PC had been that they were poorly made and kind of boring. 

Then, no games that I wanted to play came out for the N64, and the only game that I was interested in (Ocarina of Time) kept getting delayed... so I traded my N64 with my neighbor for a Playstation, and never looked back. Fuck you, Nintendo!

11. Have you ever made new friends from playing video games? For sure. I wouldn’t have met bitchshield​ if it weren’t for Persona 4, ryanvoid​ and I largely bonded over video games at first (particularly survival horror), and actually dawgoylelicious​, I think I started following you at first because of Mass Effect. Games have also been a formative part in my keeping friendships alive (devilyoudont​ and bmelts and currentlyonfire and huhwhatrightoh could probably attest to this to varying degrees). So I guess videogames are one of the keys to my heart. 

38. A game you’re ashamed to admit that you like? You know the entire genre of games where you are a small business owner and the goal is to make money? I love all of those games. Both the clickathon frenzies like the Diner Dash series and the more laid back planning-centric games like the Chocolatier series. Also, I think Miss Management is one of the best casual games of all time and I wish they’d make a fucking sequel, because it was really well done.

Five things that make me, happy, eh? I’m going to try to avoid listing the things that people would already know (cats/video games/hot guys/etc) and go with things that maybe you wouldn’t expect:

The sound that foamed milk makes when you’re pouring it into a cup for a cappuccino or latte. 

When animals wiggle with excitement when you are playing with them. 

Putting fresh cut flowers in a vase. Oddly soothing.

The smell of slightly oaky whiskey.
