Ahmad Dawabsheh (5) looks into a poster of his commemorating his mother.
In July 2015, Israel setters attacked Ahmad's house in Duma with a firebomb which burned his 18-month old brother alive. Ahmad's father, Sa'ad, and mother, Reham also succumbed to their injuries within a few weeks of the attack. Ahmad is now the only survivor left of his family and is currently be taken care of by his grandfather, Hussein Dawabsheh. The murder trial of his family has officially begun yesterday.
Hussein commented on the first hearing saying “The defendant laughed at us during the hearing," he said. "This is a joke; this is not a court. He murdered my son and they let him laugh at me."
Sa’ad’s brother, Nasser Dawabsheh, said “ "I came here because we need to see what happens in the courts. We do not believe the Israeli courts. It is very difficult to see my brother's murderers. I am filled with anger. We demand justice, but we do not believe justice will be served. If justice existed, lsrael would have been able to prevent the incident.”
