Endgame - It's All Over
Tomoe didn't remember the exact moment of the explosion. The first thing she knew was that she was trying to break the glass, and then she was standing, normal size in the place where Monobear had left the glass tube where she had died. She looked around, stunned. She still was in the courtroom. -"Why am I still here? Is there no escape, not even dead?!"- she couldn't avoid screaming, pulling from her hair strands, or what was left of them. Most of it had been burned in the explosion, along with the coat, her glasses and most of her possessions besides her clothes. She sighed heavily and let her arms drop. Then she noticed her classmates. Not only the living, but also the dead. She saw everybody who had died, yet she didn't dare to look at their eyes. She didn't want to see in what she had turned into, a killer, even if it had been in a moment of panic. Could they blame her? Yes, they could. That's what she thought. She slowly walked to her podium, avoiding everybody's eyes. Not looking at the dead was one thing, but not daring to even stare at Arisa or Maruhashi's direction was more painful. Her first friend and the victim who also had tried to kill her, less than a day ago. They hated her now, right? After all, she had killed her friend's boyfriend! Once Tomoe was on the podium, she remained silent and saw everything about Matsuhita. They had been right, after all. At the very end, she had managed to contribute to something meaningful. She helped to kickstart the Mastermind voting, and she voted for it correctly. A shame her victory was short-lived, as she died just after that. For a moment she thought she'd live, but then... Not too much later, Matsuhita was executed. Tomoe was expecting the Journalist to appear as a ghost too, but she had no idea if he did. He had been the one who locked all of them...no, that was...the Collective, right? But Matsuhita was the one who started the mutual killing. Her life would have been much different if it hadn't been for The Collective, Katsuya Matsuhita, Hope's Peak, her father, and herself. The five were what led her to her death. And so, she cursed all of them with all her strength. Now the students, the alive students, were deciding what to do. Delete the evidence? Take the dead students with them, as IP? Including...Tomoe? She wasn't sure if she wanted to be carried away as a bunch of data, to do who knows what. She would be some sort of virtual friend if they did that, wouldn't she? But who of them would want to talk with her? After all, during the time in the spa, she made her friends. And then she destroyed her friendships. The Showhost, the Theologian. They were awesome friends while she was alive. How could she forget how the Theologian had given her hope, a new sense until her end? And Eiji, he had been so friendly towards her...he had given her a book about botany. And it was quite an interesting book. She had read around half of it before the whole thing with Maruhashi happened. Tomoe wondered if she could go back to her room to take it, then smacked herself. -"Stupid, you're dead. Books are in your past now"- she muttered aloud. And the only friend of her that had died, Arisa...Tomoe was sure that the Microbiologist would never want to even hear about her again. Tomoe was all alone now, at least she thought that. She didn't dare to try to bond with the dead people again. The alive people continued discussing, and Tomoe found herself saying aloud: -"The only thing I want is...is to move on. I'm dead, there isn't anything I can do. Whatever they do, the only thing I can do is to...endure it. I just want to move on"- She cried for the first time since she arrived to the spa.
