Aaaaah thank Dave.

It’s a really weird combo of things from my life and whatever I’m interested in, TBH. I know that sounds lame, but bear with me.

Par example, the original inspiration for Pemmy (not sure if you follow my writing blog and know who he is, but just in case, the idiot savant tech genius for a group of secret agents) was originally inspired by Wheatley from Portal 2 (British, rambling, sweet but on the dim side) but ended up drawing from people I knew in real life. He shared my friend Claire’s style and music taste (both pure 80s punk) and Watson’s music attitude and quirks (very snobbish about bands (classics person), shy unless extremely close with you, in which case he’ll just go on and on about things, and quite clever when you get him the right subject, like computers, and eventually getting together with his best friend (although that was very unintentional)). Coincidentally, however, he is a dead ringer for my English teacher in his 20s, which creeps me out immensely. I also pulled from bits of media, random people, or whatever caught my interest for his character, such as a history of self harm, mental illness, and attempted suicide, after writing a paper on the anxiety disorder spectrum, left handed, plays guitar, into retro video games (he’s got an NES and N64), addicted to coffee, never been seen either eating or sleeping by his friends, lives in a working class area, heavy smoker, terrible eyesight without his glasses, the list goes on.
