One of two living rooms that David Hicks designed in 1965 for an undisclosed client in Hyde Park, London. It may very well be the only surviving example of the designer’s work, a veritable David Hicks museum. Though bright yellow walls were specified off-white won out. Color comes from art by Jeremy Moon, Gunther Uecker and John Hoyland. The Italian sofas were covered in moleskin, and the off-white wool curtains were edged in shiny black plastic braid - a modern material oft manipulated for dramatic effect. For the full feature see Forever Hicks at The Art of the Room based on an article featured in The World of Interiors, March 2003.
