DAVESTAR : THE LOW-KEY AFRO LORD FROM SOUTH SOUTH NIGERIA - PORTHARCOURT
David Loveday Jonah, professionally known as Davestar is a Nigerian Afro-Pop singer and songwriter, born in Abua, Rivers State.
Currently studying Office and Technology Management in Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Rumuola - Portharcourt.
Afrobeat is hugely popular in Nigeria, with the likes of Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido and Mr Eazi attaining iconic status at home and across the globe. Davestar is the latest artist in that lineage, with a unique style that combines the predominant flavours of Afrobeat, R&B and highlife into one.
The urban singer finds his way to stay original with his music, singing about touching experiences and connecting his day-to-day lifestyle with amazing hooks and rhymes with a smooth deep voice.
Davestar spent his early age with his grand parents (Mr & Mrs Jonah Loveday) in Abua, as his mum was too young.
Inspired by how his grand parents met - Grandpa was a teacher, grandma was his student and eventually they got married.
grew more passion for entertainment which led him to join cultural music and dance groups in his hometown, also leading songs in church at in a very early age
He grew up listening to great music arts like Lucky Dube, Wizkid, Duncan Mighty, 2baba, Chris Brown...
Davestar takes a great step in his career collaborates with Nigerian USA-based rapper and Feel Good Music boss - WizzyWee on his coming Mr. Young produced song High Way ahead of his debut body of work, Trust Issues EP.
