Bad news for fans of the Datsusara bag that was at Onnit- it looks like they’re no longer being made. It was listed on the site at least up until a week or two ago, and now they’re not listed at all. You can search for it on Google and find the page, but when you click on the link, it goes to an error message.
The backpack was a slightly different version of Datsusara’s Battlepack Core backpack. Made of hemp, this sucker had tons of storage for all kinds of things. It’s anti-microbial, so you don’t have to worry about mold or fungus or anything like that. There’s PALS webbing all over the place so you can attach as much extra stuff as you want too. The Onnit version has the Onnit logo at the bottom of the bag, and the screaming ape sewn into it instead of having a Datsusara patch and velcro strip.
I’ve had mine since June and honestly, it’s one of the few things I own that I really cherish. The only other backpack I’ve had over the years that even comes close to it is this great Oakley one I found one day [that ended up costing almost twice as much as this one]. The backpack holds an ungodly amount of stuff in the main compartment alone, and whenever I’m able to travel, I’m definitely going to bring it along with me, and probably even go with the bigger bag you can get at https://www.dsgear.com/
I’m only making a post out this to help out anyone who might’ve been interested in the backpack but was holding off on it. Now would be a good time to regularly check eBay in case anyone is selling one. You might get a good deal before people realize it’s gone and start bidding like crazy.

Datsusara upgraded their Battlepack series of bags. I need to get a hold of the Battlepack Core.
I already have their Covert Emissary Bag (messenger-style bag) and it’s fantastic. Durable, lightweight, yet plenty of room to carry stuff. I’ve carried two laptops, cords, and toolkits for the day job without issue.
I need something to carry my gi and extra gear around at the dojo, and the Battlepack Core should do the job. I really like the idea of having something antimicrobial for my sweaty gi after a workout, and if the durability of the Battlepack is anything like the Covert Emissary, I won’t have to worry about it wearing out on me.
