Nature is incredible 🌿 I totally forget about these date seeds that I started to germinate at the end of April. I checked on them yesterday to find that every single one of them germinated and they are definitely ready for planting! 🌞 I’m going to have so many little date trees. 🌴
Dates are soooo easy to germinate. All you need to do is wash the date pit after you use it (I used all these dates in smoothies). The type of date doesn’t matter, I’ve used Medjools in the past but any date will work. Then once your pits are washed, soak them in a cup with water for around 1 week. Try to change the water once every couple days to keep it fresh.
After 1 week is up, transfer your date pits to a paper towel. Mist the paper towel (use 2 pieces) so that it’s damp, but not soaking. Then fold the paper towel in half so that it’s covering the date pits. Put everything in a ziplock bag (or @stasherbag which I'm going to do next time) and then put the bag somewhere warm. I put mine on top of the fridge. Leave it there for 2 weeks, then check up on them! Then once they have these white roots you can plant them in soil and soon you’ll have your own little date tree. 😊 If you guys try this please tag me in your photos because I’d love to see the growth and progress of your plant babies 🌱
