Christmas has a different meaning here in Japan... and even more for Jujutsu Society now.
This date marks both the deaths of Suguru Geto and Satoru Gojo; their stories had an impact on jujutsu society on different ways, and also, they were unique to each other. Each other's closest, most precious people. Yuuta-sensei usually hates when anyone in jujutsu society now attempts to make a martyr or an idol of Gojo's image. But since it was decided by the clans and all parts alike voted for it, he didn't object.
It's the first time I actually witnessed this occasion; Yuuji-sensei was very happy to see Meguru-san and Nobara-san join us. The first times were obviously very sad, even with the honest attempt to focus on remembering the good times. Understandable, grief is never an easy thing to deal with, no matter how much you know better now. This year, it does look more like a celebration, even for those who met Gojo-san and still miss him. It's not that grief diminishes, or the person is ultimately forgotten, but life goes on and grows around it.
Yuuji-sensei said it himself: they could forget 'the strongest' one day, but never would forget Gojo-sensei, and he would've wanted us to live on.
