Week 6
Craft Project
This week we presented our work for our first data project. We are using a wiip board to document our data, processes and final outcome. Group projects can be difficult, especially when people have clashing ideas. Having to do a group project over the internet is even harder, but my group and I have done an awesome job working together. We have all been very helpful and supportive of one another. Over our online class, we heard everyone else speak about their project and had the opportunity to give feedback. We were given some good points from everyone. This included things like emphasising the quilt aesthetic of our final project and including more about the purpose of Instagram, which has since been added to our wiip.
The first image is the landing page of our wiip with our final craft project. The second image is our colour chart that we used to detail the emotions portrayed in the Instagram posts we observed. This was a really interesting and fun process. We discussed how this could be turned into an automated thing, with data being collected from Instagram posts all the time, digitally putting together a quilt. Would love to explore that in the future.
I still love Game of Thrones, but I don’t love these short seasons. They try to trick us with the long episodes, but we still don’t get nearly as much total time as we did in seasons 1-6. Maybe Daenerys losing her mind would have made more sense if her time in Westeros wasn’t so rushed?
