When a few minutes later they were alone at the clearing again, James pulled Regulus flush against himself, kissing him on the lips hard.

“So now you’re going around claiming we’re a couple, huh?”

Regulus smiled against James’ lips. “I’m not claiming we’re a couple. I’m just not denying it. It’s called plausible deniability.”

“Not sure that’s what it means, love.”

Because already back then, Regulus knew. 

It might have started as nothing more than physical attraction but had since evolved into something bigger and meaningful. Regulus was not ready to admit it even to himself yet, but he felt it. He hoped experiencing it was more important than saying it. 

“Well,” James cleared his throat. “E and F stand for my parents, Euphemia and Fleamont.”

“And the H?” Regulus asked.

James took a deep breath in. “H is for Harry.”

“Mhmm. And who’s Harry?”

“Harry’s my son.”

Lil shook her head. “James, I—I don’t know how to sugar coat, so I’m just gonna say it,” she looked up at him, “I’m pregnant.”

James’ eyebrows shot up. “But we broke up three months ago.”

“And I’m four months pregnant.”

James cleared his throat. “It was all good, don’t worry.”
