#dash bowman

Idea:

One thing that's interesting in Star Fox, is we're shown two of Andross' family members: Andrew, his nephew, and Dash, his grandson. Because of their relation to Andross we know of two other family members he must have had. A sibling and a child.

Yet we are told nothing about these absent family members... well, almost nothing. One thing of interest is Andrew's age. He is young - about the age of Fox and Slippy at the time of the Lylat War, maybe even little younger than them.

Why is he - Andross' young nephew - a soldier in the venomian empire? Did his parents join Andross in exile on Venom? Are they also loyal soldiers in this empire? If so, where are they? Did they fall in battle? Or is it that Andrew was left in Andross' custody because his parents died beforehand?

I could also toss in a theory about Andrew being kidnapped by Andross, but I don't think that's very likely. I mean, he's sending this kid out into battle. He doesn't care much for this kid.

Or does he? Andrew is sent out with Star Wolf. Mercenaries that are supposed to be able to match Star Fox in skill. I always wondered if Wolf and co's secondary mission was protecting Andrew while also training him. Trying to mold him into the kind of pilot and fighter that would be right at home on a team like that.

If that is Star Wolf's secondary job... they aren't very good at it. They also aren't good at stopping Star Fox however so that's just par for the course for them.

The most interesting thing about Andrew and Andross' relationship, however, is this:

Andrew claims to be Andross' only true heir. Granted, this is just his arrogant claims... but we've never seen anyone challenge him, have we?

This is further supported by the fact that Dash Bowman is such a fan of Star Fox - despite knowing Fox is the one who killed Andross. It implies that Andross' child did not join him on Venom. In fact, it seems this child was allied with Coneria if they were involved with the Lylat War at all.

Which leaves Andrew as the heir to the Venomian Empire.

There's still a lot of unanswered questions about Andross' sibling and child. We don't even know if it's Andrew's father or mother that was Andross' sibling, nor which of Dash's parents was Andross' child.

Yet this little bit with Andrew being Andross only heir does give us a little hint at some of the relationships that might have been in play. A loyal (or dead) sibling, a child that refused to join Andross' empire.

He's polysexual. Might also be some sort of genderqueer, but I haven't decided where yet.

These are just my personal headcanons for my AU and personal works.

(tldr star Fox team with more ppl than the original 4/5. Usually any combination of miyu, Fay, Bill, Katt, Amanda, Lucy, Fara, dash, or all of them at once, my personal fav. Turns into TF2-type shenanigans with all those personalities on one team)

i'm not opposed to it, i think it would just be difficult to have focus and give everyone the time they deserve to be fleshed out/have them all together constantly without them being rotated with smaller groups 😭

but also i like that not EVERYONE that's an ally or that helps star fox is like...a member of star fox. they can be temporarily sure, but i like that there's more than just. Star Fox. i think it'd be fascinating to use as a way to have folks in fox's life (and by extension, the other core members of star fox) that remind him that he's not the only one in the galaxy (not that he's self centered in that way, but he's so USED to doing this his own way ("sorry sir, we like doing things our own way") that he could be unintentionally close-minded to other ppl's lives and what they want).

i like miyu & fay a lot, but i like making them sort of like?? they're temporary members that can join and rejoin whenever they want or if the job calls for it. sort of "on call" while also doing their own things. fay being part of aristocracy wants me to see her being present in those settings, like see her influence and such, even if she doesn't want to be a part of it.

and like, miyu, fara, and bill would all be working for the cornerian defense force still imo. fara as their chief test pilot AND helps with modifications as well as ship designs to send to space dynamics/have them manufacture. fara and fay both coming from families with power also could have them interacting a lot, too. miyu i can see sticking by fay a lot as a personal escort/guard... i can also see miyu wanting to maybe be a merc/bounty hunter in her own right and having fay tag along with her/use her place in society to help miyu get targets.

bill i like having be captain of his own squadron, and eventually after peppy, would become general of the cornerian army. i think him taking the path that fox COULD have taken and fox seeing the life he could have had (while not necessarily safer or any less complicated... more stable overall) & bill being such a steady (and chill?) guy i think it would be exactly the level-headedness the cornerian army would need..

lucy, i love being an astrophysics teacher on fichina far too much but her being such good friends with krystal??? i think she would be a very present part of star fox's life (well, fox's gen of sf lol). :') also i do think she wanted to be a pilot and join star fox but??? idk?? she would also see it affect peppy and how he struggles to be there for her and her mother (they all love each other DEARLY but there's still tension :')) but i would love an excuse for the team to be planetside on fichina and deal with the environment :')

as for amanda! i can see her being part of star fox, i love making her a medic of sorts :') initially civilian but could easily make the transfer to star fox. i think the team is sorely missing a designated medic and knowing that at least 3 out of 4 or 5 core star fox members can/will make wreckless decisions that harm themselves at all times (they all take turns lol) i think someone like amanda could be good for the team, especially when amanda comes into their lives & they're all in their early 30s (and peppy in his early 50s and is now general). but also her being from aquas could lead to more fun planetside shenanigans there :')

dash... i would just make him the leader of venom but actually give him The Good Ending he deserved as venom becomes properous :( there's still so many interesting stories u could do without making dash suddenly flip to being exactly like his grandfather all of the sudden with no hint of that previously. esp with him and andrew :( kinda like... star wars the clone wars with duchess satine kryze & her sister bo-katan kryze..... but i think he would absolutely adore shadowing under star fox and i think would spend some time with them.

In Pigma's Revenge timeline, it shows that Falco didn't made to save the Lylat with Fox so he left the team and he joined "Star Falco" with Katt and Dash.
