BioWare co-founder Trent Oster hinted a remaster of classic Dragon Age games and the first two entries is technically possible, he personally built their engines 🛠 Mark Darrah is skeptical: nobody knows the old tech, and EA has a pile of other IPs on ice. Even high demand doesn't guarantee an announcement, and the studio hasn't said anything official. Would you want remasters of the first parts of the iconic RPG series?

Mark Darrah: remasters of the early Dragon Age games are unlikely, it's all about the engine 😑 The former executive producer explained that the Aurora Engine is hopelessly outdated, and BioWare barely has any devs left who know it. Even if EA wanted to, they'd need to build a new team and pull people off other projects. Darrah once pitched a Champion's Edition bundle, but it turned out to be way more complex than the Mass Effect remaster, which ran on Unreal Engine 3. TL;DR: chances of remastering the first three Dragon Age games are PRETTY much zero
