Calling all dashing rogues and alluring accomplices! Scouts and bards and Crows of Antiva! The first annual DA Rogues Week is upon us! The event is to take place during the week of April 1st (Mar. 29th - Apr. 4th) and is a chance to celebrate all the rogue characters of Dragon Age through fic, art, and whatever other forms of fan content may tickle your fancy.
We're here to celebrate all rogues, not just our companions. OCs, allies, enemies, and anything in between are all welcome here. If it's a list of rogues you're after, may I direct your attention to this wiki page. Alternatively, if you're having trouble picking one from the line up, I would like to offer you a humble spinner wheel of some of the better known options to lend you a hand (Veilguard-free version here).
Closer to the event, we will be sharing a link to a collection on AO3 open to any work published for this event. If we miss sending you your invitation, please feel free to invite yourself or send us a message letting us know.
Come March, we will also be posting a poll every Monday leading up to the event. We hope to see you there~
Rules can be found below the cut π‘οΈ
Rules
A rogue should be one of/the primary focus of the piece, but non-rogues are still allowed to feature. After all, where would we be without our handsome warriors to take fireballs to the face in our place?
Original and canon characters are both welcome.
All types of fanworks are welcome, whether that be fic or art or something more niche.
You never know what old trends will come back into fashion. Old works can be submitted so long as they still fit the prompts.
We may be thieves here, but AI generated content is not in the spirit of this event and will not be reblogged.
If you want the blog to reblog your work, please mention us @da-rogues-week or tag the post with #daroguesweek26
If you have any questions about the rules, leave an ask or reply, and we can elaborate in more plain speech.
March 29th - April 4th
These prompt descriptions are mere suggestions meant to inspire, but if you have a different idea than the one suggested by the description, going a little rogue is more than welcome.
Day 1, March 29th
Contract:
A contract is a versatile tool. It can be used to bring forth a death, a marriage, or any number of experiences in between. I just hope you entered yours willingly.
Day 2, March 30th
Shadows:
Many dangers hide in the shadows. Perhaps you are one of them. Perhaps you are more than the dangers. Perhaps you are the shadows themselves.
Day 3, March 31st
Bridges:
Plenty of things to do with a bridge. You can burn them, build them, and, if someone's gullible enough, sell them. But mostly importantly, they make for delightfully theatric meeting points.
Day 4, April 1st
Captive:
A captive is a most troubling thing to be, wouldn't you agree? Even something so benign as a captive audience is quite susceptible to a light touch. It is a much more favorable position to be the captor.
Day 5, April 2nd
Corpse:
How did you get one of these, and what are you going to do about it?
Day 6, April 3rd
Deep Roads:
Few journey into the Deep Roads willingly. Are you here for duty, for desperate refuge, or for something lost?
Day 7, April 4th
Music:
Music is the background of dance and celebration. It may herald a festival whose revelers are too distracted to notice your hand in their pocket, or it may be your sole comfort as you console yourself in the tavern after a long day of work. Why don't we follow along and see where the music takes us?

* Momentum refers to the means by which rogue PCs in Veilguard fill the bar which fuels their abilities. Not to be confused with the Dual Weapon talent from Origins by the same name.

Just because it's "suboptimal" doesn't negate that Origins lets you use a shield or a greatsword nearly bigger than yourself as a rogue. You could do nothing but punch the whole game if you really wanted!
And so the first annual DA Rogues Week comes to a close!
Thank you everyone for sharing your time and your creativity with us. It was truly a wonderful time scheming with you all.
Before we part ways, we do have one final surprise announcement. We have been keeping track of which characters star in how many chapters within our AO3 collection. At the time of closing, the rogue character most frequently represented in the presently included fics is⦠a tie between Lucanis and Mercar!
Due to appearing in a greater number of distinct pieces across all submissions, it has been decided to award this tie to Lucanis. As such, he has received the honor of representing this year's subcollection as its icon! Congratulations to him and our runner-up.
