Hobby

lalit really enjoys weaving baskets!! he used to do it the most during downtime when he wasnt entertaining clients, and pretty much all of the various sized baskets everyone owned where he lived were made by him (it was obviously much cheaper than going into the market to get them!!). so it was a nice venting/relaxing thing for him, and the end results had a very practical use for everyone around him. they’re nice baskets too! very pretty [nod]

Zodiac

lalit’s western zodiac sign is Cancer, and i think that fits him pretty damn well, from what i’ve read about cancers!! im not very knowledgeable when it comes to zodiac signs though, so i might be wrong HAHAH 

Wardrobe

sticking to his more canon timelines, lalit tends to wear things like salwar kameez or churidaar kurta/kameez, mainly clothing more associated with women than anything else. he owns a couple sherwani coats and one or two saris too, but almost never wears them. he doesnt have the patience, tbh

he is keen on looking T H E  B E S T and as time’s gone by, he’s been very good at keeping tabs on how fashion changes, and will dress his mortal form accordingly!! 

leggings and skinnies, usually with flats and a tunic top are more “”modern”” things he would be seen in, but theyre very similar to the clothes he used to wear to begin with!! not much of a change tbh. he’s very fond of over-sized hoodies. he likes how they make his legs look thinner, since his legs are kinda thick for his size!

Question

Lalit constantly doubts if he’s doing his job right, since he has very little contact with any gods. He just does what he was told to from the start, combined with what his gut tells him to do. Nobody has complained, and nothing in association with his job has gone wrong, so he’s doing SOMETHING right. that doesn’t stop him from freaking out about it every now and then. Karim usually gets the brunt of his doubt and frustrations, and takes it all in stride.

he doubts how well he treats those he loves, too, and questions whether or not he actually loves them to his fullest, or if he’s using them without realizing it. he did that a lot in his line of work to get things he wanted but couldn’t afford, so he’s worried about that habit seeping into his relationships, platonic or romantic. 

he’s very defensive about his past, mainly his former line of work, though if prompted or questioned politely and/or vaguely, he’ll indulge those who ask. there were some very scary things that happened to him, and those are kept under lock and key. the only person he’s told these things to is Karim, and Anjali knows first-hand many of the things that has happened to him, having worked together with him. maybe if others come along that he learns to trust as well as them, he’ll tell them what’s happened, but at the moment he’s very defensive about those things. 

he’s also defensive towards people who speak against his friends and family, or people who speak hatefully towards those they feel are “beneath them’. he grew up with a very diverse group of people, and is extremely open minded. on top of that, through his travels with karim, lalit’s experienced many different cultures and learned a lot about the world through his travels. lalit would defend a stranger in a heartbeat if he heard someone speaking out against them in any sort of bigoted or hateful way. this has caused him some problems, but his defense was almost always well received. anyone who’s ever gotten a tongue-lashing from lalit was well deserving of it in the first place.
