They were the beginning of a new style for me. It was a dark and stormy night in 2012, I had just left NYC, and moved to Ohio at the invite from idiot friends and also to pry my head out of my butt. I really didn't know what I was going to do as a person or artist. . As soon as I landed in Ohio, I was asked to design posters for #MELVINS and #SWANS. The management wasn't going to pay for printing. So I had to pay for my copies and the band's copies. Not a deal I'd ever take again. Grumblegrumble... Out of desperation (aka no budget or time), I decided to try something new - the anatomical style. I figured if it didn't work I could just go back to my regular illustration style. To my shock, people didn't hate it and there was a demand. So I started to use that style for the next 9 years. It's been an interesting journey so far - with highs and lows and more highs. .
