Facebook has effectively been used to hack into our minds, funneling targeted dark ads at people to influence their choice of candidate and their ideological beliefs. It’s why Breitbart was so popular. It’s the tool of Cambridge Analytica, the tool of the Mercers. It’s why fake news has been so widespread; it was manufactured to turn a profit, peddled to people through Facebook ads because they don’t know better.
