It's been three years and you can still feel his eyes on you. Everyone tells you it wasn't your fault, he was certifiably insane and you did everything right. But you still feel guilty, responsible. Maybe if you hadn't been so soft spoken. But you were that way with all the patients
All you did was work your cleaning job at the clinic. You knew the rules, had them drilled into you by security, administrators and coworkers. Keep interactions with inmates to a minimum. Never accept gifts. Just do the cleaning and get out.
But Jefferson still thought you were special, different, his. He would talk to you, well, at you whenever you were working. Praising you, calling you his "Queen of Hearts". He'd go on and on about being stuck in Wonderland and how he simply wanted to get back to his daughter. You would be cleaning the hallway his room was on and he would talk to you about tea, being trapped in a time loop. He'd ask your favorite tea and biscuit combinations and laugh at himself when you didn't answer.
"Of course, you are a good woman who follows the rules," he teased. "I just know you would be so good for me, too. When you're with me, I can see everything so clearly."
In retrospect, it felt like just a matter of time before he escalated things. He'd secretly been working on the lock and hinges of his door, making sure he would never fully be locked in. When it was ready, he waited for your next shift, confident in his plan.
You'd barely started mopping the floors when you felt his hands on you. You tried to gasp, scream, anything but he stopped you with a passionate kiss.
"My Queen of Hearts, in my hands at last," he breathes as his hands continue to roam. Your instincts had you freezing up which made him think you were into his touches.
"So much softness and sweetness," he purrs, his smile looking like the Cheshire cat's.
Security must have finally noticed the activity in the cameras because Jefferson was subdued soon after, swearing, vowing to never stop loving you. Promising to have you in his arms again, vowing to follow you everywhere.
Three years ago and you've yet to feel safe again.
Moving to a city in another part of the country was all you could think to do. It was easy enough to find another janitorial job. Not many takers for manual labor at off hours. You'd started keeping mace in your purse and in your work apron. Yeah, you were cleaning up empty buildings, but you couldn't be too safe.
Especially when assholes like Travis liked to jump scare you. You tolerated him because he was actually a good coworker who did his share of the work and did it well. But damn did he still get on your nerves. You'd started listening out for the clinking sound of his St. Joseph necklace to give you a heads up that he was around.
The fact that you hadn't heard from him all night actually had you more on edge than if you were expecting him around every corner.
As you finish work, you pack everything up, triple checking the locks and still keeping an ear out for trouble. The tension in your shoulders is hurting so much you're tempted to use some of your meager paycheck for a massage. It's a pipe-dream for now, though. You remind yourself to just get on the bus and get home. Then you can rest.
Rent for your little studio apartment takes up the majority of your paycheck, but it's in a secure building. Lots of locks, even a security camera or two. It's not great, but it's those touches that help turn your little shoebox into a sanctuary.
It's why you didn't notice the lights were on when you opened the door.
Jefferson grabs you, pulling you inside and smiles that Cheshire grin that haunts your nightmares.
"J...Jefferson? How?" you stammer.
"Of course the Queen of my Heart remembers me," he coos, caressing your cheek. "It's taken me far too long to get back to you but I promise, I'll make it up to you. I even have a gift for you!"
He moves you to the tiny table where he's set up a small tea party with a bouquet of black roses in a vase. From one of the flowers you see a very familiar St. Joseph necklace.
"T..Travis?"
"Ah, my Queen has cleverly deduced one of her presents," Jefferson beams. "He will not be bothering you, ever again."
"What did you do?" you breathe, not trusting yourself to speak above a whisper.
"I made you some tea and biscuits," he answers, matter-of-factly. "Another way of showing how I will take care of you, now that we're free to be together."
He holds out a chair and you sit. You're too in shock to try to fight him.
"I understand that this is a lot," he remarks. "Considering how happy I am to be here, I can only imagine how happy you are to see me."
"You were...in prison."
"Emphasis on 'was' my dear," he winks at you. "You'd think they would have learned after the first time that I'll always find a way out. And this time I only had to kill one person to get out!" You gasp and Jefferson takes your hand. "He was in between us and our happiness, my Heart. It had to be done."
"And...Travis?"
"A gift to beg your forgiveness for taking so long," he replies.
"You killed him, too?"
"It was the only way to be certain he'd stop bothering you."
A tear falls as the weight of Jefferson's crimes hit you.
"I know, it's overwhelming," he smiles softly. "But you'll never need to be afraid again."

Yes, nonnie. đ Basement spouses are fun, of course, but I picture Jefferson having a nice attic to keep you in. Maybe you can eventually go downstairs. You just have to learn to behave and accept your new life.
Until then, he's happy to have tea parties upstairs.
Pairings: Dark!Jefferson/Mad Hatter x Reader
Summary: Jefferson harshly reminds Reader about a rule she broke.
Warning: Jefferson is not a good guy in this- yandere, minor injury to reader, drugged, manhandling, mentions of needles
Word Count: 2.2k
The steam swirled and lifted, abandoning the teacup and taking with it the warmth. The house was quiet this morning, except for Jeffersonâs deep snores slipping past the broken bedroom door.Â
Your body grew colder the longer you watched the steam escape, spreading itself thin and dancing faster away. It was similar to how your last hopes felt when leaving you.
Eventually, there would only be a shell left holding cold liquid. Because you canât put steam back in a mug.
You cradled your bruised hand, nestling it closer against your corset. The rivets were expensive and ribbons colorful, but your bloodied fingers were ruining the workmanship.
Youâd give it all up- forgo the fine tea parties and discard all the enviable riches- to be able to return to your small village, away from him. But to regain your freedom and leave Jefferson behind was a hope cruelly curling up and dying inside you.Â
You tried blocking out what just happened. The event created a headache behind your eyes, but the thoughts still wouldnât stop repeating themselves.
The way the bedroom door broke open when he screamed at you for trying to lock it. The look on his face when he crashed through it, yanking you across the room without stopping. How he seemed to take it personally when you tripped over the bedroom rug and fell onto the ground.
Snarling like an animal, he flipped you onto your back and dragged your body across the floor.
His rage paused for a moment when you caught him off guard, grabbing onto the bottom of splintered door frame, bracing yourself.
You gripped the broken frame harder as you begged Jefferson to leave you alone and calm down. You thought he might- until he came by your side and slammed the door against your hand.
âThere are no locked doors in my house!â Jefferson roared over your screams.
The pain was blinding and it allowed him to easily pull you down the hallway as you cried and clutched your fingers.
Each of his steps sent your skirt peeling further back up along your thighs. Your feet bounced against the kitchen floor when he finally dropped your legs.
âItâs not broken,â Jefferson straddled you, grabbing your damaged hand. âBehave- and keep it that way.â
Your mouth wobbled without sound, your shaking lips were enough for Jefferson to know you heard him.Â
With narrowed eyes and a nod, he stepped over you, crushing the embroidery on your skirt with his boots. He rummaged and cursed throughout in the kitchen, pulling open drawers and slamming cabinet doors.
You attempted to sit up without adding any extra weight onto your hand, cautiously watching him put the kettle on before setting out two cups and two teapots. You tracked him with wary eyes and tried smothering your pain. Despite it being excruciating, you knew better to complain.
Fear prickled the back of your neck when he pulled a key out of his coat pocket and unlocked the side cabinet. He removed several glass jars of herbs by feel alone- too consumed with cursing under his breath as he filled each teapot with different glassed ingredients.
âTake a seat at the table, rabbit,â he ordered, the kettle screaming over him. After dropping loose tea in both teapots, he filled them with the boiling water.
You knew what kind of blend was steeping in the one pot, your teapot. A special mix Jefferson served whenever you suffered from emotional outbursts. Hysterics brought on from being kept here and no one daring to cross the Mad Hatter by helping you out. Ordinarily, he would calmly pour you a cup and tenderly tell you to drink, promising how heâd make you feel better. Then heâd push a plate of biscuits over and tell you to eat.
But he was far from calm now.Â
Bile burned your throat as you readied yourself to sit. The ends of his misshapen curls brushed the high collar of his tailored coat and hid his sneer until he fully turned towards you.
His anger scared you away from the chair, surprising yourself at his disobeying his order.Â
âI told you to sit,â Jefferson reminded you coldly, placing the teapots and tray down on the table.
His eyebrows rose as you silently took several more wobbly steps away from the table.Â
âOhhh... donât run now, rabbit,â He mocked, wrenching a sewing tin off the pine shelf. âYou were doing so good.âÂ
Shaking the tin in the air, he easily closed in on you when the bookcase halted your retreat. The edge of the table dug into your hip when you tucked yourself between the two pieces of furniture along the wall.Â
âPlease... Jefferson, Iâm- Iâm sorry,â the frantic pitches in your tone revealed how scared you were. Â
With a few heavy steps, Jefferson cut the remaining space between you both. His eyes moved rapidly before settling upon your injured hand.Â
âRemind me again, rabbit. What were the rules,â his voice hardened around each word.Â
Rules? Law? Orders? Everything was a command from him. And there were too many to remember, but you knew better than to say that. You tried pushing down the fear, thinking of a way to quell the rabid look in his eyes. But your delay only chafed him further.Â
For all his dangerous past outbursts at others within the town, you never saw him quite this unstable and threatening before to you.
His whispered nickname for you held more weight now, fully understanding peopleâs unease when he became agitated.
But this was more than agitation. His pupils were dilated, his breathing monstrously loud, his hair twisted along his brows from sweat; this Jefferson before you, he was in every sense the Mad Hatter.Â
With a swift kick, he knocked the table against the wall causing it to jam further into your hip. Pain bloomed along your side and the framed paintings rattled beside your head.
âDonât make me wait, rabbit,â Jefferson sneered. âSay what you did wrong.â
â... I shou-shouldnât have closed the door-â
â-In my face!â he spat.
âIn... in your face,â you repeated slowly, eyes to the floor. "I'm sorry."
The air in the room thickened and solidified. Neither of you moved, predator and prey. The room fell almost completely silent except for the heartbeat echoing in your ears as Jeffersonâs chest heaving.Â
âGo on,â Jefferson taunted, moving the sewing kit from one hand to the other. âYouâre not done yet, little rabbit.â
âI shouldnât have... I shouldnât have tried to lock the door.â
âOhhh, there it is, bunny,â he cooed with encouragement. âHeart of the matter.â
Your eyes rose, surprised by his quick change to a calmer tone. The pet name lit a small spark of hope.
Absent-mindedly you traced the scars on your hand. Honing in on the tender dots that peppered either side of your thumb and index finger. Shiny and smooth, slightly puckered and raised, the marks ran themselves in a line along your skin. Â
Remembering that small spark of safety that day, you scoffed. Hope really was like steam running away from a teacup- breaking itself apart in order to flee faster.Â
âTake yourself back to the table,â Jefferson ordered. âDrink your tea.â
âBut. Please, Jefferson...â
âGo.âÂ
Cradling your hand, you shuffled to the chair with him at your heels.
âIâll take care of you, bunny. Iâll help you remember the rules,â he pulled the seat out for you and pushed you closer to the table.
You looked at the place setting, the teapot with the special blend set in front of you.Â
âHere. This will help,â Jefferson nudged the cup closer and placed the sewing tin by you.Â
âWould⌠would you like me to get some biscuits?â You asked between hesitant sips, testing the air between you two.Â
The tea tasted different than your usual dose of docile blend, a bit sweeter. But there wasn't any sugar on the table.
âYou really think you deserve a treat?â Jefferson chuckled darkly into his own cup. âTake another drink, rabbit.â
You glanced up over the rim, noting the change in pet names.
He stared at you harder, eyeing the lip of the cup resting against your mouth that you werenât consuming.
The cup felt heavy for a moment, then it felt oddly and incredibly light. Closing your eyes, you blew on the hot liquid and took another sip.Â
âGood,â He nodded at your compliance. âDrink more, bunny. Youâll need it.â
Jeffersonâs voice sounded further away- but when you opened your eyes, he was still seated at the table. You blinked and the teacup tilted slightly in your hand.Â
The liquid dribbled down over your fingers. It felt⌠wet? You set the teacup on the table, afraid it might slip from your grasp. A rush of lightheadedness ran over you.
âHow do you feel?â Jefferson opened the sewing tin and removed the cloth covering the stitching tools. Â
It took you a moment to realize he was talking to you. It took another moment to understand his question. How did you feel? You didnât feel... right.Â
âI think... I think I need to lie down,â you slowly mumbled. âPlease.â
Jefferson grunted with amusement, âSuch polite manners at our impromptu tea party. Itâs a shame you couldnât remember to mind them earlier, rabbit.â
His chair scraped the floor as he moved closer, taking your injured hand in his. You felt your arm being moved, but couldnât feel his actual touch. Your head lulled heavily to the side.Â
âRabbit,â you thought with a frown. âRabbit, wasnât the good pet name. Was it?âÂ
You fought your eyes from closing when you heard Jefferson rustling through the sewing tin.Â
âRelax, bunny. Iâll fix you up,â he vowed, threading the heavy, curved needle. âLike embroidering fine leather. We know how good I am with my hands.â
âBunny,â you smiled, your head tipped back, loosely this time. Everything felt weightless. âOh, Bunny. Bunny was the good name.â
Jefferson covered his forearm over yours. Pushing your injured fingers together, he squeezed your thumb up close. Pinching the skin together with a small clamp, he eyed the perfect guideline of skin that appeared between your finger and thumb.Â
âIâll help you remember the rules, bunny,â Jefferson promised.
Raising his hand at an angle, Jefferson pressed the thick, hooked needle against your soft flesh and pierced you easily. Lightly humming, he slid the head of the needle through the other side of your skin with little resistance. As the needleâs sharp point emerged from you, a satisfied smile covered Jeffersonâs face.Â
âYour skin is such a fine material, bunny. Much more buttery than any expensive leathers,â he complimented.
With a slight twist of his wrist, he rotated the pliers in his hand and followed the curve of the needle.
âNo, no. Donât fight. I donât want to stitch a crooked line,â Jefferson warned, pulling the thick needle fully out.
Extending his arm, he dragged the curved hook away from you and closely watched the thread tunnel itself through the holes of your soft skin. Tugging the string taut with a grin, he knotted the end with a jerk, testing your skin to jump and comply.Â
âGood, little bunny,â he praised, knotting the thread again.Â
You whimpered on the second piercing, this one deeper than the first. Your eyes fluttered at the slight pinching sensations the thread made as it traveled in you.
You closed your eyes tighter when he pushed and pulled too harshly. You refused to look at his craftsmanship, the thought of the thread moving through your flesh made your legs kick out under the table.
âDonât act like a scared little rabbit, bunny. Iâm helping you,â Jefferson remarked impatiently, moving his body and pressing his weight down harder on your arm. âThis will be your reminder to not touch the things you shouldn't.â
The drug-infused tea left you too lethargic to fight. But you finally saw what he had done, after allowing you to pull your arm out from under him.
He finished knotting the end of the thread and cut away the extra string. Unclamping your skin, he leaned back in his chair, permitting you to see the tailored project.
Jefferson didnât fix your injury with stitches like you initially believed. Instead, he had sewn your thumb up against your index finger.Â
âWithout the use of your thumb, you wonât be so tempted to close doors and turn locks,â Jefferson kissed the top of your head and gathered his tools. âNever worry, bunny. Iâll always be with you to help you remember.â
Before you passed out at the table, you heard him say, âOne can feel dead and still be breathing, bunny. I know how that can be, but I wonât let that be you. Weâre going to make each other happy. Iâll wake you later to finish your tea. I donât want you in too much pain. There might even be a biscuit for you.â
A waking groan traveled out of the bedroom, followed by a deep morning cough and the sound of the bed shifting. Those scarred specks on your hand were now your reminder. Probably the most important one- the Mad Hatter would always be yours.
Quickly wiping your eyes, you shook away the memory. The smell of the biscuits cooling and the fireplace crackling offered a small, temporary comfort. Until his footsteps sounded across the kitchen floor and you felt his presence by your back.Â
âGood Morning, bunny. Is there tea ready?â Jefferson gave your shoulders a squeeze and kissed the curve of your neck with a moan. âGod, you smell delicious- like freshly baked biscuits.
Summary: Jefferson and Chase Collins are two serial killers. Youâre their next victim.
Warnings: Violence, abuse, noncon, gore, death (you donât live sorry. RIP tho.)
AN: This is definitely the darkest thing Iâve ever written yet Iâm thriving. Donât like donât read. Tagged most of my usual's except those I know for a fact donât want to read it. If youâre tagged and donât think this is for you just move along to happier things.
Fear coursed through your veins as you ran through the dark woods. The blood from the gash on your head fell in crimson drips and dried on your cheek but there wasnât time to wipe it away. You felt dizzy, your vision was blurred, but you couldnât stop. Not if you wanted to live. Finally you collapsed against a large tree and fell to your knees, your lungs burned and your heart pounded hard. Your body was sore and you were certain you had broken ribs. As you caught your breath you tried to remember the events that lead up to you running for your life from two psychopaths.Â
You were cautious. Always aware of your surroundings and had self defense skills but none of that mattered when it came to Jefferson and Chase. They had grabbed you and knocked you unconscious with a chloroform soaked rag before you could even blink. You woke up in an abandoned warehouse on a closed road outside of town. No one for miles. No one to hear your screams as they beat you. They laughed as they did so, like two deranged mental patients. They thought it was a game to chain you to the rafters and have you dangle in the air while they took a crowbar to your legs, ass, back and chest. They thought it was entertaining to rip away your hoodie and set it on fire, followed by your shoes and your purse. The look of dark, sadistic desiring their eyes as they told you their plan for you made you sick. A dumb move really because now you knew that they were the serial killers that had been all over the news the last three months.Â
You thanked God that the younger of the two wasnât that bright and had thought youâd be fine left unconscious and unchained while they went to get supplies out of the car. The stun gun to the back of your neck had knocked you out but not for as long as theyâd hoped for. You came to and ran as soon as you realized you had the opportunity. You didnât care that it was cold and you were only in short denim shorts and a torn t-shirt. You didnât care that you were barefoot and the sticks and pebbles on the ground hurt as you ran. You didnât care that your body was already on fire from the abuse you suffered at their hands.Â
The crack of a stick snapping under a heavy boot made you jump. Your eyes darted around but it was too dark to see anything. Footsteps grew closer and you stood to run again but you fell back to the ground, weak and unsteady.Â
âPleaseâ You whispered as they stood over you, teeth shining as the grinned sadisticallyÂ
âStupid bitch."Â
Chaseâs boot connecting to the side of your head was the final push needed for you to lose the fight. Your body fell to the ground with a thud as the darkness consumed you.Â
â
"Is she alive?"Â
Jefferson sounded annoyed, even bored, as he spoke. He didnât bother to look up from sharpening his knife when Chase checked you for a pulse.Â
"Yeah sheâs alive."Â
"Good. Itâd be a shame to waste all this time for her to die from a kick in the skull. Takes all the fun out of it.â
âHow are we gonna do it?â
Chase asked as he played with your hair. He was more than likely thinking about cutting it off and sending it in an envelope to your parents.Â
âI was thinking gut her. Hang her on the welcome sign by her intestines.â
Jefferson dropped the stone block he was sharpening his knife with and stared blankly at his partner. Chase was definitely the more insane of the two.Â
âWhat?â Chase shrugged innocentlyÂ
âYouâre lucky youâre cute.â Jefferson sighed âWe do her just like the others.â
âRepetition is boring."Â
"Repetition is what doesnt get us caught and your ass fisted by some guy named Tank.â
Chase pouted as Jefferson gave his cheek a pat.Â
âToo pretty for prison, Angel."Â
Chase nodded agreement and took out his knife, cutting a piece of your hair off with one quick motion. He stuffed it in an envelope then quickly forgot about it.Â
You stirred and they looked at each other with grins.Â
"Time for some more funâ Jefferson said as he lifted your chin
Your head rolled to the other side, heavy with pain. Your eyelids fluttered and you tried to speak.Â
âSave your breath. Youâll need it for all the screaming youâre going to do.â
Chaseâs voice resonated with you and your eyes snapped open. You began to plead with them but they ignored you.Â
âLetâs get her on the mattress. Get this over with. Cuntâs already wasted enough of our time with that escape attempt.â Jefferson sliced through the zip ties that bound your wrist to the metal chair âYouâre going to pay for that by the way."Â
A shiver ran down your spin as he growled the words in your ear. You didnât have the strength to fight them as they pulled you up by your arms and dragged you over to the old mattress. You were dropped onto it, face first, as if you were a rag doll, carelessly and without a second thought to your injuries.Â
They were on you in seconds, their pants dropped to their ankles. You clawed at the corner in a feeble attempt to pull away as they cut and ripped away the remainder of your dirty and torn clothes.Â
"Look at that pussy.â Chase whistled as he pulled your legs apart âTight little ass too."Â
For hours they used your body for their entertainment. They defiled your holes with the handles of the crowbar and a knife, used only spit for lube (for their own comfort) as they took your ass, and abused your breasts with their teeth and hot metal theyâd heated with a blow torch. After the first round you were sobbing. By the fifth you prayed for it to be the last. Finally they were done and both of your holes burned with their cum.Â
You laid there, unrestrained and broken, as they dressed themselves. You barely made a sound when Chase used his boot to roll you onto your back and your limbs dangled limp over the edge of the mattress.Â
"Pathetic slut."Â
He spit and the glob splat against your left eye before it ran down your face. You didnât have the energy to wipe it away. You couldnât even find it in you to cry anymore.Â
"Noâ was all you could whisper when they began to relieve their beer filled bladders across your abused bodyÂ
âAlright letâs do this.â Jefferson nodded as he zipped up his dark jeans.
Chase sighed. He was bored with strangling the victims to death and he knew this one wouldnât struggle. You were already gone mentally and that took all the fun out of it for him. He preferred the begging, crying, and fight theyâd put up. He lived for the slashing of fingernails across his face as they tried to push him away. You werenât going to do that and he knew the second Jefferson wrapped the thin line of cord around your neck that heâd be better off just having a cigarette until it was over.Â
You were laid limp against Jefferson, your head against his shoulder. You wanted to fight. Your mind was screaming at you to reach for the crowbar and bash his head in but you couldnât. Jefferson pulled the cord tight and your lungs burned with the fiery need to breathe. Pressure filled your head and your eyes bugged wide. Your face slowly began to turn shades of blue and you barely felt your killerâs breath hot on your flesh as Jefferson grunted with strain.Â
âFucking die already, Cunt. Come on.â
The last thing you saw through the blurred vision was the flash of a flame as Chase lit his cigarette.Â
Jefferson huffed as he released the cord. Your lifeless body laid against him and he lazily stroked down your breathless chest as he panted.Â
âThat wasnât as fun as it should have beenâ Chase complained as he helped Jefferson roll the blue barrel filled with your dismembered body and cement into the bay as the sun began to slowly peak over the horizon.Â
âWeâll find a new town. New victims and a new way to have our fun.â
âCan the next one be a guy? Maybe a jock?"Â
"Sure, Angel. Iâll get you whatever toy you want. Letâs finish cleaning up and get back to town, Grace will be awake soon and wonder where we are.â

I wish you would write a fic where⌠you add a little sequel to "Be Mine (And Only Mine)" with Jefferson, where he is now a fixture in your life. Did he kidnap you? Did he move in? Did he take you without much thought into where to go and you are both on the run? Did he have it all planned out and a new place for you both? Do you try to escape? Do you accept your fate? Whatever it is, he adores you and you're afraid of him, and I wish you would write a slice of what's going on with those two now.
Ask based on this post.
You really seemed to have liked my Jefferson fic! Thank you! I really have no interest in writing up a full sequel but I can try to answer a few of your questions with a snippet.
It's dark by the time Jefferson pulls up to a small house in the middle of the woods. There have been so many twist and turns since the drive started that you know you couldn't find your way out of this forest, even with a map.
"We're finally home!" he quietly cheers. "I'm sure you're sore from sitting in the car for so long. You're normally a very active woman."
All you can do is nod in affirmation. You're not sure how he did it, but it's been at least 20 hours since he packed you and your few belongings into his car.
"Let's get you inside so we can rest and recover," he coos.
The inside of the house is a little rundown. You're can't be certain, but you've been a cleaner long enough to recognize the DIY fixes done in a hurry. There might be heat, but you're not sure about running water. At least Jefferson is able to prove there's electricity by flipping a light switch.
"There's still much work to be done," he admits. "But I simply had to bring you here before it was all done. Between the two of us, I'm certain we can make this place a home Grace will love."
"Grace? Your daughter?"
His smile widens. "Of course my Queen remembers our little girl. Once we get things fixed up, I can go rescue her. We'll be a family again!"
Lovelies, between this ask about Jefferson having an attic spouse and Bucky being a dark or soft!dark lumberjack, I'm not thinking of Curtis converting an old train car into a home and keeping you there. đ
So, lovelies, if Jefferson keeps you in an attic and Bucky may keep you in a cabin and Curtis keeps you in an old train car, maybe Frank keeps a reader on a boat. đ
