I learnt from this story 1) Be specific about your valuation. 2) Be humble 3) Be polite 4) Stay your ground 5) Know who you want to work with 6) Respect people you can't work with or won't choose to 7) Ask questions/what do you think question 8) Be confident 9) Never back down on asking for guarantee 10) Use presense of mind Bonus: 11. Tell your point of view and why you are negotiating so much. 12. Even if it's your company and you own a big piece of the cake. Do have a pay for yourself. And do discuss that with the investors when negotiating. Your contributions as an owner as immense, but you must aslo account for the time and effort you put in. It is more so because, say you'd have to leave your business one day.
