âŚ..so the prompt you wrote with geraskier, where jaskier kisses Geralt before a fight, would you (if you didnt already) consider writing his rerurning? 𼺠possibly with prompt 32 from the list đĽşâ¤ď¸ it made me feel things
My apologies for the delay on this one! đ I was so happy to receive this request, and I hope you enjoy this follow-up!
(first part here)
The sun begins to rise as Geralt dispatches the last of the ghosts, his chest heaving and blood running black. One of them caught him on the arm with a nasty attack he hadnât seen coming, and in his desperation to keep his competitive edge he had downed one Swallow too many. The land has been freed of its curse and the tragic souls confined here have been sent onward by force, but Geralt canât rejoice, not when his body is still trying to succumb to the toxins.
It feels natural to fall to his knees and assume a position of near-prayer as he struggles to catch his breath. His vision blurs too, senses heightening now that there are no enemies to claim his focus. The distant orange sun peeks over the horizon and Geralt welcomes the small, likely imagined warmth, basking in it as best he can. He wants nothing more than to collapse into meditation or perhaps just sleep so that healthy blood can circulate back through his veins and banish the traitorous potions.
He canât rest here. He made a promise. Geralt gives in to his other desire, surrendering to the distraction heâs been purposely avoiding all night. His hand sneaks up, seemingly of its own volition, to feel out the handkerchief he had awkwardly shoved between his shirt and breastplate. He still feels like shit, and heâs pretty sure the scratch on his arm will need a full day to heal. But as his fingertips brush over the soft hem, his haggard breath catches in his throat.
Geralt, impossibly, finds himself smiling.
Itâs clean, obviouslyâ Jaskier would have known better than to offer him a used rag. Then again, Jaskier should have known better than to offer him anything at all. Geralt misses the days when he would never have received any sort of gift from his companion; back when he could comfortably pretend heâd forgotten Jaskierâs name, and he never spared any extra room in his saddlebags for songbooks. Back then, he hadnât offered Jaskier a single personal detail about his life, let alone a promise to return from any contract.
âLiar,â Geralt accuses himself, tracing his broad and dirty thumb over the light blue linen. He smiles again at the colourâ Jaskier must have picked this out himself to complement his eyes. He has a knack for things like that. âI donât miss those days at all.â
Roach isnât around to snuffle at him for the brief vain insanity, but heâs sure she would; he can practically imagine her gently pushing against his hands. âQuit smiling to yourself, you old fart,â he mumbles, doing his best impression of⌠a horse. â⌠Maybe I really am losing it.â
He doesnât think she would blame him if she were here. After all, Jaskier had done more than offer him an old keepsake to wish him luck on the job. Geralt lifts the kerchief to his mouth and presses his lips to it, both lightning-quick and reverent. He blinks and the sight of Jaskier rising up off his heels to kiss him clouds his vision. He might be alone now but the memory of the warmth has yet to leave him.
Carefully folding the blue scrap of fabric into quarters before shoving it back into the makeshift pocket, Geralt tries to regain his focus. The world is still blurry, but the dawn is nigh, and heâs hardly going to waste the day feeling sorry for himself when he has a promise to keep and a favour to return.
He organizes his inventory carefully before journeying back, ensuring that he leaves no unnecessary souvenirs for the townsfolk behind. On the road here his boots had been heavy in a way he could not blame on the uneven terrain or muddy soil. Now, he moves with embarrassing haste, stumbling in his hurry to return to where he left Jaskier.
Part of Geralt still expects the bard to stand awaiting him in the same place, but the entrance of the dilapidated barn is empty. Heart pounding, Geralt checks on Roach and finds her in good spirits, tied to a post with too generous a serving of feed. His horse stirs, shaking out her mane with a soft noise. Geralt pets her neck and whispers, âI see heâs spoiling you again! Irresponsible as ever.â
Roach doesnât speak, obviously. The witcher still clings to her, dawdling. In the pale yellow light of morning, pulse racing with leftover adrenaline from the fight or extra stamina from the potions or sheer nerves, Geralt finds it difficult to do what he came back to do. To his dear friend, he confesses, barely audible, âWhat if it was a mistake? What if he regrets it?â
The handkerchief burns against Geraltâs throat, and he retrieves it, twisting the blue scrap of fabric between his hands. His fears are not unfounded, which stings more than any poison could. Over the decades, heâs seen Jaskier make a hundred romantic mistakes, leaving both parties wounded and drifting apart. Geralt has finally grown used to the bardâs mannerisms and bizarre behaviour; which is to say, heâs grown comfortable in his presence. He would hate to lose a friendship like that because of a brief impulse on Jaskierâs part.
He shoves the handkerchief deep back into his armour. Then he senses a heartbeat from, bewilderingly, above himâ a muted and slow pulse, but a pulse nonetheless. Geralt frowns and leaves Roachâs side so that he can scale a ladder up to the second floor of the barn.
Up in the loft, no stray tomcats or loitering vagabonds await him. Instead, Geraltâs heart softens at the sight of Jaskier, who must have climbed up here last night after securing Roach and leaving her far too much food. The bard has made his bed by a window that looks out onto the bright morning, but the sun has not roused him yet, and he doesnât stir at Geraltâs arrival.
He doesnât look especially warm, with a thick blanket from Roachâs saddlebags cast aside and only wrapped around one of his legs. But in repose, Jaskier is more peaceful than ever, hardly shivering or wincing at the uncomfortable wood beneath his back. Geralt has no doubt heâll complain about it later today, tossing out half a dozen snippy comments about his beauty sleep before Geralt finally caves and says they can use their earnings to rent a room for tonight. In a sudden shock, Geralt realizes heâs looking forward to the complaining.
Before he can return down the ladder to give Jaskier a few more hours of âbeauty sleepâ, Geralt accidentally treads on a loose old plank that creaks beneath his boot. He supposes he should just be grateful this whole place hasnât come down over their heads, but he still winces as Jaskier slowly awakens. Those blue eyes open and Geralt holds his breath the way he always does, waiting patiently for whichever annoying greeting Jaskier will have for him this morning.
Except this morning, Jaskier blinks slowly, yawning and pulling the discarded blanket back towards himself. âHi,â he mutters, and then his pretty eyes widen, and he blinks again, sharp gaze focusing in on the scrap of fabric sitting at Geraltâs neck. Geralt instantly fumbles to grab it, but the damage has been done. âOhâ right. You came back.â
âI said I would,â Geralt breathes, fidgeting with the handkerchief. Jaskierâs gaze drops to his hands and he immediately stops. âWasnât a hard contract.â I had to dose myself and nearly passed out afterwards. Still might. âBut itâs done.â
âRight,â Jaskier echoes, sounding a little funny. He pulls himself up to sit, rubbing at his eyes. âYou donât have to⌠um, you donât need to return that to me if you donât want to. Consider it a gift; I donât think I give you enough of those. I mean, the birthdays Iâve missed over the years, really, Iâm an awful friend!â
He can see right through the chattering, and he knows that Jaskier is trying to smooth over any awkwardness. He appreciates it; he really does. But, unfortunately for them both, Geralt treasures Jaskierâs awful friendshipâ just as he treasures the gift. Just as he treasures the other thing too.
He moves forward and Jaskierâs breath hitches. Carefully and slowly, Geralt says, âI want to return it.â He doesnât blink as he steps closer, nor as he kneels. The loft creaks beneath his weight but it holds, even as he feels like the world might crumble away beneath them. âWill you let me? ⌠Return it?â
Heart still pounding hard, Jaskier doesnât move a muscle at first. Then Geralt pockets the favour, making his meaning clear, and a brilliant grin lights up the manâs face. The curve of his soft, affectionate smile is better than any victory; better than the sunrise. Geralt could spend forever basking in that smile. Jaskier sways towards him, and Geralt catches that smile with his own.
They donât end up leaving the loft until mid-morning.

Helllloooo king! here comes a greedy panda! Please some fluff out of an angst prompt, 8) "so you lied to me"? Pretty please?
heeheehoohoo
---
âWhereâd you go this afternoon?â
Geralt stops dead in his tracks, the handle of the front door still in his hand, one foot inside the apartment. âWhat?â
Jaskierâs standing in the hallway, arms crossed in front of his chest, expression somewhere on the fine line between icy cold and dangerously stormy. âWhere. Did. You. Go. This. Afternoon,â he repeats, every word emphasized through gritted teeth.
âI- I uh...â Truth is, Geralt canât tell Jaskier. Not yet at least. âI was at work.â
âNo, you werenât.â
Lie. Tell a lie. A good one. âHow do you even know I wasnât there?â Shit.Â
âBecause I went to visit, you idiot!â Jaskierâs voice is loud now, probably loud enough to carry through the walls of the apartment and Geralt involuntarily winces.Â
âJask-â
âDonât Jask me! I thought Iâd do something nice for you when you said we couldnât have lunch together because of your work! I thought, hey, why donât I bring lunch to him instead, surely my wonderful boyfriend who never lies to me deserves that! But you werenât even there! So, whereâd you go?â
âI, uhh. I was...â He tries to lie, he really does, but he knows that Jaskierâs gonna know. Jaskier can always tell when he lies. âI went to the mall.â
Jaskierâs nose scrunches up and his shoulders drop, his anger momentarily replaced with complete and utter confusion. âBut you hate the mall.â
Jaskier knows him too well. âYeah, but I had to buy something. For you. And...â
âYou didnât want me to know.â Thereâs a giddy glint in Jaskierâs eyes, anger gone like snow under the sun, his boyfriend's emotions fickle as always.
âHmm.â
âSo you lied to me.â
âHmm.â
Jaskier practically bounces towards him and throws his arms around Geralt's neck, leaning his head on his shoulder and looking up at Geralt through fluttering lashes. The flirty expression he's undoubtedly going for is completely annihilated by the grin that splits his face open and the laughter lines around his eyes that Geralt loves so much.
"What'd you get me?" Jaskier singsongs, vibrating with excitement.
"I can't tell you yet." He will, though. Geralt can never say no to Jaskier.
His boyfriend pouts, though there's still something giddy in his blue eyes, ruining the effect of the dramatic expression. "Please, Geralt."
"I can't tell you," he repeats.
"Geralt," Jaskier whines. "Surely you would not treat me so cruelly. Not after I came to your office this afternoon to eat lunch with you."
He sighs as if he relents, though he's done that five minutes ago already. "Fine."
Jaskier pulls back, bouncing on his feet in pure, unbridled glee as Geralt reaches into his coat pocket. The smile mutes when Geralt pulls out the small velvet box he paid an arm and a leg for earlier that day.
Now it's Geralt's turn to smile as he opens the box, the golden ring inside catching the fluorescent lights of the hallway.
"It is." His voice is equally as soft as Jaskier as he sinks down on one knee before his baffled - and for once silent - boyfriend. "Will you marry me, Jask?"

âMaster witcher!â Jaskier bowed deeply when he reached Geraltâs table. âCan you spare a moment of your time? I am in need of your assistance - your...special skills.â He winked and Geralt raised his eyebrows, one corner of his mouth twitching. Jaskier had been performing at this banquet for two hours now and Geralt had watched him, waiting for what was surely to come now.Â
To conceal his amusement he licked his lips and noticed with satisfaction that Jaskierâs eyes followed the movement. Geralt stood up and said to the grey haired men next to him, who had bored him with the falling prices of rye, âif youâll excuse me.â Not waiting for an answer, he motioned for Jaskier to lead the way.Â
When they were out of the banquet hall Jaskier grabbed his hand and intertwined their fingers. A warm feeling spread through his chest and he squeezed Jaskierâs hand quickly. Even though they had been together for a few months now, this small gesture, the intertwining of their fingers, not as a necessity to stay together in a dark cave or crowded market, but just because they wanted to and could, still felt thrilling to Geralt.Â
âWhat did you want to talk to me about?âÂ
âI didnât,â Jaskier said, and pulled him into an empty room. He kicked the door shut behind them and pressed Geralt against the wall. The next moment Jaskierâs lips were on his.
Since their friendship had turned into something else, Geralt had started hating banquets considerably less. He still hated the formal and too-stiff clothing, and having to listen to the deathly boring chatter of nobles. But now he could look forward to this. Whenever Jaskier had the chance to take a break between songs, when he could slip away from the hosts and guests who wanted to talk to the charismatic bard, he would snatch Geralt and they would sneak away in a broom closet, a hidden part of a garden or an alcove behind thick curtains and smooch.Â
Geralt pulled Jaskier closer until their bodies were pressed together. Jaskierâs lips tasted of the expensive heavy red wine, and when he sucked at his plush lower lip, Jaskier moaned. In the next moment he felt Jaskierâs tongue gently pressing between his lips and he opened them for him. Jaskierâs hand was in his hair, holding him steady as they hungrily kissed as if their lives depended on it.Â
He could not get enough of this, of him. Years spent silently sneaking glances at Jaskier, tracing the exquisite curve of his lips only with his eyes, guessing at how soft they were, had not prepared him for these experiences. Both of them had not realized how hungry they had been for one another, and now they did not hold back any longer.Â
Jaskier was sucking marks into Geraltâs neck and Geralt had grabbed his butt, when they heard someone grumble loudly in the hallway. âWhere is this goddamned bard? We pay a fortune for him and he hides away.â Jaskier giggled and sucked another mark into Geraltâs neck.Â
âI wouldnât call it a fortune, but he is probably right that I need to sing a few more songs.â

Summary: Spring comes again, and Jaskier is always ready for it.
Taglist: at the bottom - let me know if you want on/off it!
Trying to get some prompts done, so setting a 5 minute timer for each of them and hoping for the best!
It was something he felt every spring. The shifting in the air as warmer weather rolled in, snow melting and leaving the branches dripping above him as he walked the cobblestone paths between the academic buildings. A gentle breeze carrying the scent of fresh buds through the air, his coat becoming a bit too warm in the sun but still a necessity when he packed his bags for class in the early mornings.
Spring was Jaskier's favorite time of year, though it was more what came of it than the season itself that called to him.
Everything in him seemed to stir. Fingers tapping at the edge of his notebook as he worked through another song, the slow ballads of winter becoming faster. More and more his gaze would turn out the window, onto the coming horizon, the air crisp in his lungs as he stared longingly at the light that shinned down on the path out of town.
Every spring, he felt it. The giddiness, the nervousness, restless until it kept him up at night. And when the snow finally melted, the weather no longer so foul and cold that he wouldn't be able to safely travel on his own, Jaskier's bags would already have been packed and sitting next to his front door for a week or more.
It was time, and he never hesitated. Only spared a glance back as he waved to Oxenfurt over his shoulder, knowing fall would have his feet carrying him back here once more - but until then, the world awaited him.

Lend Me A Hand is the title of my upcoming modern Gerlion au >:))
Itâs something Iâm very excited about!! Iâve been working on it for a few months now and itâs quite a monster of a document.
Anyways, hereâs now the snippet!!
In a future life, perhaps Dandelion would have been an architect, given how honest to goodness sturdy the pillow (and cushions, blankets, chairs pressed against the side of the bed, and one My Little Pony backpack crammed in there somewhere) fort was holding up.
Perhaps they were extraordinary stiff pillows that could be used as bricks, but they couldnât be. Dandelion had slept on them before and they had done their job wonderfully. And theyâre doing their job perfectly again by not falling on the princess who is slumbering away inside.
Lying on the couch was a difficult thing to do, especially when every single cushion was pulled out. He shivered as a cold draft landed upon him. Thereâs no more blankets left in the apartment due to the fact that theyâre all the structural support for Ciriâs fort. But Dandelion has slept in worse before (and strange how those always belong to those who he slept with worse).
He pulls his knees to his chest and closes his eyes, beginning to feel all of the effects from running constantly back and forth, diving to catch a child, and then the series of mini-heart attacks heâs suffered from watching after Ciri, exhaustion overtaking him. Dandelion threw a glance at the digital clock by the TV, cursing Geralt silently for making him to math in his head as he converts the 24-hour time to 12 intervals. It was 11:38. Goodness.
The thought emerges temporarily that he should charge Geralt for this, but he quickly waves it away. He offered to babysit his kid for a reason.
At that same point, however, Dandelion did come to a realization of why so many people didnât offer to babysit for her before, despite her angelic appearance.
Right when heâs on the edge of barely drifting, Dandelion is jolted awake again when the doorbell rings, also causing Roach to meow down the hallway. Dandelion sits up, his back complaining loudly about how utterly uncomfortable the bare couch is, but nonetheless he stumbles over to the door.
The first thing that Dandelion is met with is Geralt with bandages wrapped around his neck and a colorful Dora the Explorer band-aid slapped right on his chin that Dandelion had a sneaking suspicion he knows exactly which Wolf placed that on him.
âOh, youâre still here,â is Geraltâs mumbled response as he stands there in the doorway, which implies some things that Dandelion would rather not think about when it comes to past babysitting experiences that Ciri has gone through. âI can leave if you so desperately desire it,â Dandelion says sarcastically but Geraltâs panicked response nearly makes him want to take it back.
âNo, not at all. Unless you want toâ I wonât hold it against you for that at all. But I donât want you to go, not that I want to you here more than what you would like. Am I holding you for more than what you would like?ââ
Dandelion canât tell if he wants to kiss or punch this man. Maybe both. Perhaps he can punch his lips and offer to kiss it better. But given how sturdy Geralt is, heâs certain that itâs his fingers that are going to break first.
âI donât mind at all. Ciri was a joy to be around,â Dandelion says honestly. As long as you ignore the knives and the dangerous acrobatics the child had gotten into. But bringing that up might prompt Geralt to feather and tar him.
âMost people donât say that,â Geralt says as he pushes past Dandelion into his apartment, who is desperately holding back the urge to say âIâm not like the other girlsâ right in Geraltâs face, whom he is certain would not get but it would be funny nonetheless.
âMaybe Ciri likes me more than all of the others,â Dandelion proposes. Itâs a silly idea.
âI like you than all of the others,â Geralt says from the hallway closet where heâs taking off his jacket and kicking off his shoes. Dandelion nearly choked on his spit.
Wow, isnât that a powerful statement for his lovesick yearning heart? He isnât too fully sure how much longer his heart can take of this longing, this want for the silver-haired man in front of him.
âWhy the fuck are all of the cushions missing?â

Nr 27 Help me Iâm being hit on at a bar please be my fake boyfriend for a second Geraskier please and thank you đđ
Fake dating!! Donât mind if I do! I am so glad someone chose this one!!
____________
Geralt wasnât entirely sure why heâd come to the bar. He didnât want to be around people. It was cheaper to drink at home, and the music wasnât quite so deafening in his flat.
And yet, here he was, nursing a pint of ale and glowering at anyone that came too close. He hadnât realised that drinking alone by the bar would gather so much attention. He sighed and hunched over his drink more, hoping to give off more intimidating vibes than flirty ones. He heard the clack of heels approach and he almost growled at the approaching blonde. She wasnât unattractive and on another night he might have been interested but really he just wanted to be alone.
Heâd broken up with Yennefer⌠again.
Or more actually sheâd broken up with him⌠again.
Fuck it. He wasnât sure how much of their on and off relationship he could take. He loved her but with Yen that never seemed to be enough. So heâd decided to get drunk and getting drunk at his flat by himself had just seemed like a depressing idea. Past him was an idiot. Anything was better than this loud mess of a bar.
âDarling!â An arm wrapped around his shoulder and lips brushed against his cheek.
âWhat the fuck?â He growled as a man draped himself over Geralt.
The lips on his cheek trailed up to his ear. âHelp me.â The man whispered. âMy ex.â
Geralt glanced over to where the man was gesturing. An attractive brunette was making her way across the bar. Geralt raised his eyebrow at the man who was now sitting half in his lap. It was the first time Geralt had seen the manâs face. He had soft brown hair that kept falling in front of his eyes, eyes that were the most beautiful shade of blue that Geralt had ever seen. The man was chewing on his lower lip, anxiously awaiting Geraltâs decision.
âYouâre late.â He grumbled with a slight nod.
The man lit up with the most dazzlingly smile and wrapped his arms around Geraltâs neck, shifting so he was completely now using Geralt as his chair. âIâm so sorry, dearest.â He cooed loudly and buried his face in Geraltâs neck. âIâm Jaskier.â He muttered quietly so only Geralt could hear.
âJaskier.â Geralt repeated, testing the name out for himself. It was a pretty name and somehow seemed to suit Jaskier perfectly. He wrapped his arms around Jaskierâs waist to stop him from falling off his lap. âI. I missed you?â
Fuck he was never very good at drama at school, but he wanted to try. He didnât want to put Jaskier in danger with his shit acting skills.
Jaskier laughed. It was melodic and as gorgeous as the man himself. âOh darling, I missed you too.â Jaskier pressed another kiss to Geraltâs cheek. He felt himself blush under Jaskierâs open affection.
This wasnât how he saw his evening going but suddenly being alone seemed like a fucking terrible idea. He glanced back over at the brunette. She was standing nearby with her hands on her hips, not looking very impressed with their display. Fuck. He looked back at Jaskier. His face was flushed probably from alcohol. Geralt really didnât want to seem like he was taking advantage of their situation but Jaskier had asked for his help.
His eyes flicked down to Jaskierâs lips and back to his eyes in an unspoken question. Jaskier licked his lips and gave a slight nod so Geralt kissed him. He tried to make it seem like it wasnât their first kiss but there was an inevitable bump of noses as they tried to fit together. Jaskier let out a soft moan as the kiss deepened, Geraltâs tongue slipping inside of his mouth, exploring the faint taste of whiskey. Jaskierâs hand threaded into his hair and Geralt responded with a moan as they finally broke apart panting.
Jaskier kept his fingers in Geraltâs hair as they breathed into each other, lips not quite breaking apart. Geralt hummed as Jaskier tugged gently at his hair. Jaskier kissed the corner of his mouth and along his cheek.
âFuck.â Geralt muttered, his grip on Jaskierâs waist tightening.
Jaskier chuckled. âSo weâre still on for date night, love?â He asked as he tossed his fringe from his eyes, one hand still in Geraltâs hair and the other now cupping Geraltâs cheek.
Geralt smiled as his heart raced in his chest. âWhat night was that again, Jask?â
âTomorrow?â
Geralt had no plans so he nodded. âTomorrow.â
Jaskier beamed and then buried his face in Geraltâs neck. âGive me your phone, Iâll put my number in.â
Geralt did just that and then text Jaskier with his name and a suggestion for a restaurant. Jaskier stayed in his arms for the rest of the evening, chattering happily about his work at a music shop and the best way to cook pancakes, Â until the bar began to close up. They reluctantly parted for the night and went their separate ways but Geralt still left with a smile on his lips.
He would see Jaskier again tomorrow. They had a date⌠for real this time.
How about a number 18 for the sensory prompts? đđ

18. red wine stained lips
send me prompts đź
After a couple cups of wine, the world starts blurring at the edges. It's alright, for Geralt. He knows it takes more for him to get drunk. Still, he finds himself unable to explain the heat burning him whole, making his knees tremble, weak. The smoke of the bonfires floats on the air, along with the music and the laughter and the cheerful cries running through the trees and waking the forest. The night is warm.
He spots Jaskier dancing in a large circle, signing, roaming like a wild animal, a nymph enchanting every being with its passing. Geralt could discern dozens of eyes baring him with their look, hazy from wine and the night. His among them. Only that he is neither laughing nor drinking. And the heat on his nape isn't because of the night. And the way his eyes are fixed on the bard ask for more than what would be just one night, should he walk away with someone else. Geralt smiles bitterly to himself. He always does.
He thinks of drinking another cup of wine. To blur the edges more. Then maybe, maybe he would be braver. Or, at least, he would have an excuse.
He looks away for just one moment, leaning on the wall behind him. When he returns his look, he meets two blue eyes piercing him from afar, coming closer. He swallows. Gods, Jaskier is smiling at him and he knows he needs no wine to get more drunk than he already is, looking at him.
Jaskier comes stumbling to his side, giggling breathlessly, a filled cup in his hand. "Come on, Geralt, everyone is dancing!"
Geralt smirks and shakes his head. "You want me to dance too?"
"Why?" Jaskier raises an eyebrow, struggling to keep his balance. "You wouldn't?" He pauses for a second, then pouts as though giving a performance. "For me?"
A performance. That's what it would always be. Geralt's hope is laughing at him, doubting itself. "For you, huh?" He looks into Jaskier's eyes, his smile never escaping him, his mask never falling. Anything. Anything for you. He feels his cheeks burning. Frowns for a moment, as if considering it. Then shrugs. "Nah."
Jaskier groans with a roll of his eyes and nudges his arm. "You're no fun." He grimaces at the witcher as he ostentatiously continues to ignore him and leans on the wall. Takes a sip of wine, then glances sideways at Geralt. He outstretches his hand. "Want some?"
Oh, Geralt can't look at him, can't even think of turning his head. He knows. He saw him. Saw how his cheeks were flushed pink, saw how his smile was heady, saw how his lips were red, welcoming. He saw all these. And if he sees them once more, he won't be able to hold himself back. So instead, he shakes his head. "Had enough."
"Hah, me too!" Jaskier giggles and shrugs carelessly. "But if you're going to sin," he raises his cup, takes a pose as if ready to recite, "then sin to the core."
Geralt hums. "Philosophical."
"It's the wine."
He chuckles. The bonfires are burning, the smoke blurring his eyes. Nothing like the way he burns, nothing like his defences hanging from a string.
" 'ight. I'm going back." Jaskier takes a step forward, emptying the cup with a sip and makes to spin around. "But you should co â Ah, fuck."
Geralt catches him in his arms before he hits the ground. Of course, he would, he's drunk as a skunk. Still, the way things turned out is not of great benefit to Geralt. Or is it?
He's drunk or at least, drunk enough. Jaskier looks up at him as he stands and he feels him shivering in his arms. He gazes at him, curious, as if inspecting a work of art. Eyes wide and blue, lips red, droplets of wine still on their cracks. Geralt can smell it. Can smell him. Jaskier smirks at him, daring. Then leans closer, his breath caressing Geralt's ear. Geralt hears the smile in his voice with a shudder.
"Let me tell you a secret," he whispers and Geralt feels his knees giving in. But now Jaskier's voice is different. "I'm not that drunk."
And he chuckles. But he doesn't get to finish it. Because Geralt looks at him, eyes wide, suddenly realising and yet, the heat is still there and, as Jaskier savours him with his eyes, it burns hotter. So he leans and presses their lips together and kisses him, and Jaskier moans softly and wraps his arms around his neck, and he tastes of wine, the one Geralt licks of his lips, hungrily, and now he doesn't care about getting drunk. And then he's pinned on the wall and Jaskier deepens the kiss but as Geralt's hands start crawling downwards and he feels his pants too tight, he pulls away with a whimper. "Geralt." Their lips are touching, breathless. "Geralt. We're outside the inn."
Geralt stares at him, helpless, and raises a hand to rest on his face. "I love you." He knows there were other times he could have said it. As a wide grin lightens the bard's face, he knows now is the best one.
"I love you too, Geralt," Jaskier whispers with all the love he finds in him and steals another kiss. "I love you always." Another one. And then he smirks. "But now I need a drink."
Geralt chuckles and grabs his hand as they enter the inn.
Happy Birthday @dapandapod I hope you have a wonderful day. A short fluffy Geraskier piece for you my dear :)
The noise of the bubbling stream, the crackle of the fire, the soft wind rustling through the canopy of leaves above, the hooting of an owl, the occasional shift from the chestnut mare tethered to a sapling near by.
Jaskier sighed contentedly as he leaned against his pack, watching the dancing flames and listening to the melodies of the night. He was warm, stomach full and feeling tired after the long day of walking.
Usually he would pick up his lute and weave the night into song, but he was happy enough just enjoying the peace.
He glanced at the Witcher fiddling with something near Roach and had to stifle a yawn as Geralt rose to his feet and joined him by the fire.
With a gentle elegance that still surprised Jaskier to this day, Geralt sat beside him and smiled, his amber eyes bright in the light of the flames.
Jaskier leaned into him. Geralt hummed deep in his throat.
âHere,â the Witcher said quietly, pressing a small paper bag into Jaskierâs hand.
The bard sat up slightly, brow furrowed.
âWhatâs this?â he asked.
âJust...just open it,â there was a timidness in Geraltâs gruff voice and Jaskier felt his heart melt.
âYouâve never given me a gift before,â Jaskier beamed at him.
Geralt grunted. A noise somewhere between embarrassment and an apology.
Carefully Jaskier examined the bag. Whatever was inside was light and soft, barely thicker than the bag itself. With curiosity in his expression, he opened the paper bad and tipped the contents into his palm. A bright smile erupted across his face.
It was a handkerchief. Very simple, white with embroidered edging and a small yellow dandelion in the corner.
âGeralt,â he breathed softly, lifting his blue gaze to capture amber.
âI remembered you lost your other one running from Drowners,â Geralt fidgeted with his fingers, âand I saw it in the market today and uh...â
âThank you,â Jaskier leaned in to brush his lips against Geraltâs warm cheek.
A small smile lit up Geraltâs face. Jaskierâs stomach fluttered and he brought a hand up to caress the side of Geraltâs face as he pressed a kiss to Geraltâs lips.
âThank you love,â Jaskier mumbled against his mouth.
âHm,â Geralt rumbled, tucking an arm around Jaskier and pulling him into his chest.
Jaskier curled up into his warmth, looking at the handkerchief still twined with his fingers.
A gift from his Witcher, he thought happily, how lucky he was.
