the man is a master
Moonlight
Trundled along to the Donmar last night to see "Moonlight" by Harold Pinter. I've seen "No Man's Land" before and none of us, not even our English teachers who came with us, understood what was going on, so I was slightly worried about this one!
It was all fine though- I'd forgotten how teeny-tiny the Donmar is, and just how close you get to the actors! Got the ticket free through the Discovery scheme there, and was really excited to see Danny Mays after the epicness of him in Ashes to Ashes.
Not sure that I really "understood" the play, but I didn't have any "whaaa?" moments; maybe I just accepted it and let it all wash over me? David Bradley (or Filch, Harry Potter nerds) spent the entire hour-and-10-mins in bed and still absolutely owned it, comically and seriously and poignantly and everything. Deborah Findlay (mainly seen in bonnety things) was also excellent, and I was very impressed with Mr Mays' impromptu forward roll, lovely stuff.
And I got home in time to watch Glee on E4+1, what's not to like? 70 minute plays are the way forward, fact fans.
