PANEL ONE: INVINCIBLE BOY looks nervous and is playing with the hem of his cape in one hand.

IB: I just talk into the camera right? ...I’m Invincible Boy. Danny Danvers.

PANEL TWO: He looks guilty and holds the end of his cape to his chest, covering the star.

IB: Everyone expects me to adjust to the 21st century right away. And I really am trying!

PANEL THREE: He drops both hands into his lap.

IB: I just miss everyone I used to know so much that sometimes I don’t know what to do.

PANEL FOUR: He looks earnestly at the camera.

IB: I’m really glad Dana and Lucy took me in, truly! It’s just...

PANEL FIVE: He drops his head and holds his cape again.

IB: It’s strange sometimes because Dana is my great niece. I’m still fourteen and she’s in her thirties.

PANEL SIX: His eyes start to tear up.

IB: She doesn’t look much like me or Davie but...

PANEL SEVEN: IB is crying openly now, holding his cape with both hands.

IB: She smiles just like him.

PANEL EIGHT: He puts his face in his hands, still holding his cape. He lets out a sob.

PANEL NINE: He drops his hands to his chest, eyes still wet.

D a n n y T i m e

Danny Danvers is the main character of my project Invincible Boy! He’s IB- a kid superhero from the 1940s who got cyrofroze then dug up decades later by his great niece. He’s very golden age inspired. He’s an extremely black and white thinker and most of his story is not only learning to live in the 21st century, but learning about the grey areas in life.

For example I have a scene planned where a bully at school is making fun of him and Danny says “it’s okay, I know you didn’t mean to be rude on purpose!”

“Actually I did.”

“Oh, are you nazi then?”

I wrote this in comic script styles because I really need to practice it and hey! I might actually use this scene someday.

PANEL TWO: DANNY presses the doorbellDING-DONG

PANEL THREE: Tilted so the viewer can see both DANNY and TODD’S profiles. TODD is in the open doorway in a tank top that shows off the bandages on his arm. DANNY looks nervous. TODD looks annoyed.

PANEL FOUR: Wide shot. Danny looks small against the dirty hallway. He holds the Tupperware like a shield. He looks like an apprehensive thirteen year old, not a superhero.DANNY: I brought you chicken soup.

PANEL FIVE: Another wide shot. TODD is framed by his door frame. You can see into the apartment behind him. He looks confused, impatient, and like he just woke up.TODD: ...TODD: What?

Page TwoPANEL ONE: Side view so viewers can see both.DANNY: It’s my fault you got hurt. So... I brought you chicken soup.TODD: ...Shouldn’t you be at school?DANNY: It’s summer vacation.

PANEL TWO: TODD is framed by the doorway again. One hand is on the door frame. He is still annoyed, having no patience for childish apologies.TODD: Look, kid, people get hurt, okay? Now... just leave me alone.

PANEL THREE: From the side. TODD slams the door with a loud SLAM. Danny is shocked.

PANEL FOUR: Wide shot of DANNY. You can see his whole body. He looks even smaller and more insecure than before. His face is a mix of shock, hurt, and confusion. He doesn’t understand how someone could be so mean. The Tupperware is still in his hands.

PANEL FIVE: Danny is crouching to leave the Tupperware outside TODD’S door.DANNY: I’m gonna leave the soup out here, okay?DANNY: I’ll see you later, right Fawkes?DANNY: Fawkes?

PANEL SIX: DANNY  leaves, hands in his pockets and head hung low.

PANEL SEVEN: The Tupperware of soup lays in front of TODD’S closed door.
