Most of these are going to be on the older side because I used to watch more Colombian telenovelas when I was still in El Salvador.

Sofia Vergara

I'm starting with Sofia because she is so well known here in the U.S. I also thought of starting with her because I feel like when it was announced that they were looking for a Latina/Hispanic Robin, most people started picturing Latinas like Sofia Vergara (or like Salma Hayek, Eiza Gonzalez, and Penelope Cruz for the Hispanics). This is a picture of Sofia when she was younger and had her hair dark, more like Robin's. She is 52, so she is out of the age range that they are looking for, but she would've been good.

2. Catherine Siachoque

She has a similar look to Sofia, they are the same age, and close in height. She has played protagonists and antagonists, so she has the range.

3. Carmen Villalobos

I'm going to lead by saying that this one is impossible because she is hosting a reality cooking show on Telemundo right now. I am actually watching last night's episode as I type this. HOWEVER, I have to say that she has the looks and is within the age range. She is exactly 40. I like her acting. I am not sure about her voice for Robin though because it is a little higher in pitch and has a bit of a nasal quality to it. I know people probably want to hear some good alto resonance in Robin's voice.

4. Carolina Ramirez

I think she's probably going to end up being my favorite on this list. I have seen her in La Hija del Mariachi, La Pola, and La Reina del Flow. In my opinion, she has both the looks and the acting range to play Robin. She is just one year out of the age range at 41, but I would like to think that the opla casting directors would be flexible if they had someone of this caliber. I also think she has a better voice for Robin than Carmen Villalobos. She has more of those lower alto tones and more resonance. Also, this picture is from La Hija del Mariachi because I remembered she wore a hat in some episodes. Colombian Ms. All Sunday.

5. Ana Maria Orozco

She was Betty in the OG Ugly Betty, and I loved her. I was in Kindergarten when Betty La Fea aired in El Salvador, and I just remember sitting down to watch it with the whole family at 7:00 pm like it was religion. We would even talk about the episode the next day in school. Betty was an icon. Obviously, this means I think Ana Maria has the range to play Robin. I have also seen her in some narco telenovela, but I can't remember the name of it because I did not commit to that one like I did other novelas.

6. Danna Garcia

This one is mostly about looks. She's stunning. I am not sure about the acting range because everything I have seen her in has casted her as the same sweet protagonist, so I don't know if she has Ms. All Sunday in her or Water 7/Enies Lobby Robin in her. I feel like "I wanna live!" goes beyond the crying we typically see from protagonists in telenovelas. She is also small, and I know people want tall Robin, and I do too tbh.

7. Natalia Ramirez

She was the antagonist, Marcela Valencia. Even during my rewatch of both Betty and the One Piece anime recently, I found myself thinking she would've been a great Nico Robin.

8. Marcela Posada

She was Sandra, and she was hilarious. My spirit animal. Speaking of animals, they called her La Jirafa (Giraffe) because she was the tallest. She's 5'9" so not quite Robin's 6'2", but the tallest on this list.

9. Maria Fernanda Yepes

I have seen Maria Fernanda in Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso, Rosario Tijeras, and the remake of Azucar. She has played a protagonist turned antagonist, a femme fatale, and an antagonist, so I think she has the range for Robin. I do also think we need to be ready for the possibility that we might still get a very white looking Robin, even if they go with a Latina. I would hate for y'all to be disappointed, and I can already hear the outrage because like I said before, I think everybody is picturing Sofia Vergara/Salma Hayek/Eiza Gonzalez/Penelope Cruz. In my Brazilian fancast post, I think I also only had one super white complected Latina (Mariana Ximenes) because I reserve that spot for someone that I think could really act the part. Someone that I think could win the fandom over with their acting. The reason why I was triggered by the white girl that Twitter is trying to push is because her acting clips were awful. They're literally just hyping her up because she's hot. I will not have "I wanna live!" be a flop because dudebros can't think with the right head.
