gonna use this ask to tell you what i think of 15 minutes😼 ( ignore this if u aren’t YINNIE )

i loved the vocals but what i really enjoyed was the video and this may not make sense because i’m tired, but oh well. so i love the camera angles, i think that perspectives do matter and i feel like it’d be better explained if i made a video about it to demonstrate but i can’t so🙂‍↕️anyway the wide shots feel like the truth to me in a way, like they represent what’s really happening. the close ups are an invasive perspective, or i would think how she sees her lover is viewing her, ( which is why she’s smiling while close up as she continues running away from this relationship ) and then of course her point of view which is really self explanatory!! i appreciate the level of detail when it came to the shot composition because it really delivers the feeling of frantic, like this love of hers is so intense it blurs all lines and transcends all boundaries, physical or not. that’s why we jump from the house to the back of the truck and then to the factory. and when it comes to the settings it tells the same story. her lover is this house that she keeps coming back to no matter how much she knows that she shouldn’t . every time she explores a deeper connection with this person in an innocent way, ( or in this case, explores the house ) she always ends up lost, the love that was once stable ( like a house would be, even with its imperfections ) turning into a journey down a dark path ( truck driving aimlessly in the dark ). even though she sees it for what it is, she still closes the door, unable to let go of this person and instead opting to keep riding. she’s then thrown back into the house quickly, as if the previous events never happened, and she’s back to the stability she initially was looking for. ( note lighting )

and then the factory happens, which factories to me typically represent uncertainty or unsafety, like both of them are uncertain about where to go from here, but then we jump to the locker room of a school which could mean a few things. when i think of schools, i think of innocence or becoming who you are, and in this case, i feel like the partner is truly showing who they are, which leads her to break open a window to try to escape the relationship. she enters this warehouse, big and empty, ( again note the lighting ) which shows how empty this relationship really is despite how much space it holds within her person. she keeps trying to find a way out, but her lover metaphorically pulls her back again ( which is interesting, using the rope and her position. this lover is rough in the way they reel her in and her attempts are fruitless ) and drags her to the fan ( a messy break up ). You’ll hear the instrumental actually mimic the way a fan sounds during this scene which was actually my favorite.. OKAY now ill finally talk about the lighting which isn’t that serious but i like the way it was used.

The warm pinkish-orange only shows itself when she’s choosing herself or she’s believing what she wants to, which is kind of telling because she’s always running back to the cool-toned dark side of her partner, choosing them over herself every single time, even though it’s hard to see, she too subconsciously seeks to love intensely for just a moment, which is why she’ll force her way back into stability ( the house or warm lighting ) before willingly entering the more complex parts of the relationship. i say willingly because we can assume from the way the settings flickered from between the house and the truck that it also happened for every other location as well. it’s only until the break up ( fan ), which again was lit in the same color that represents a better place, that she finally escapes this person completely, running away from herself, and from what she endured ( in a mix of lighting because now she can’t seperate herself from this person ) but old habits die hard, because at the end of the video, she ends right back up the house which is now in the dark. it makes me believe the house was dark the whole time, and she only wanted to pretend it wasn’t…! in the end there’s no musical climax, no evil jingle or repeated mantra or motif to refer back to. there’s just the fade of her emotions ( the song entirely ) as she takes a step towards the door. the sign glowing a warm tone but showing a cruel message, asking her to try again. showing how she keeps running back to this person, but this person also won’t stop letting her in, only to hurt her, their only promise being 15 minutes.

showing how even the most cruel things have a very predictable end for people who can’t separate themselves from people like that. showing how you can’t just run away from something, or you’ll end up right where you started. showing how people never change.
