So in this AU Shuichi dies. He's dead. Like, very. Probably took a case that got him into some deep shit and got him killed but i havent worked out the details this AU is 90% yearning and 30% angst.

Anyways everyone knows Shuichi is dead. Especially his (ex?)boyfriend Rantaro. Cause it'd be a little fucked up if he didn't tbh.

So for some reason (probably team dr or hopes peak idk) there's an android built. This android has been spoon fed the personality of Shuichi Saihara down to a fucking tea because of Rantaro (willingly or accidentally has not been decided.)

Basically when they activate the android, tell him his name, then shove him out the door. And so since he has the memories/mindset of Shuichi, they feel familiar in this place but at the same time he's absolutely lost. At some point he runs into Rantaro because this is a saimami au because fuck you i can.

Rantaro bluescreens (pun intended) seeing him because Shuichi is dead but also standing in front of him? And he gets very VERY distressed about how accurate the android is (ie: same mannerism, same reactions to things, same laugh, etc.) and its existence makes it really hard for Rantaro to move on.

And so again, since the android had the memories of Shuichi he remembers things like, idk TOUCHING GRASS but he's never actually done it before. So when he actually can its such a wild experience for him.

The angst kicks in when the android falls in love with Rantaro due to experiences he has with him while Rantaro loves him due to the fact he "is" Shuichi. Rantaro also has a very difficult time remebering that this android ISN'T Shuichi and the real Shuichi is dead.

Oh did I forget to mention that the android doesn't know that he's an android? Yeah.
