And then watched some Daniel Spellbound again to myself that night lol

Daniel wanted to say so many vile things to Bixby right now, but if he started a fight he’d let Lucy down.  

“Eugh, I knew I smelled something hella nasty.” Hoagie came up to Daniel’s side snacking on a plate of food. “You know I don’t think it’s against tracker code to take a bath.” 

“What the?....” Bixby squinted. “No way, the piggy?” Bixby pointed. 

“No way, the ugly??” Hoagie pointed back at her face. “Yes I’m no longer a beast of burden, but you’re still Burden’s beast.” Hoagie pointed to the permanent branding on her arm that Burden gave her when he came after Daniel a second time. “So who’s really a dog rolling over like the whipped domestic animal they are?” 

“Why I oughta!” Bixby raised her first, but another hand caught hers. 

“Prospero.” Hector held her back. “I put effort into this party. Don’t ruin it.” 

“What? But he-” Bixby argued. 

“Ruin it and you’ll owe the cheat code extra dues.” Hector threatened. Bixby sputtered and stalked off somewhere else. Hector let her go and gave Daniel a once over and turned to head back to the other side of the room. Hector may be sleazy, but he was losing a bit of money to be here in order to gain money in the future. She was not ruining that for him. 

“Hoag, your roasting skills saved my ass. If I would have thrown that punch, I’d be in the dog house for real.” Daniel sighed.
