Iāve decided to go for a bit of groaner on the titles for what is hopefully an interesting series (Could we call it a series? Who the heck knows. Weāll see, I guess).Ā
If the reference isnāt clear, then first of all, sorry. Second of all, hold on to your pants, itās coming.
Recently, some of you learned for the first time that the aforementioned sweet liāl bean (the one and only Rei Kon) is voiced by Daniel DeSanto, who plays this less sweet liāl bean - JasonĀ āThe Muffin Butterer, Allegedlyā from Mean Girls.
Someone in this God send of a fandom created an edit with the BBA boys and this exact scene, but I canāt remember who you are, nor can I find it :(.Ā
Now, what someone you didnāt know, is that you can also hear the vocal stlyings of Daniel DeSanto AKA Rei Kon in the every classic Magic School Bus as none other than the pun maker-face palm inducer-all around funny guy, Carlos Ramon.
If youāre looking for an embarassig piece of trivia about moi, I had a heck of a crush on Carlos AND Rei....so this, as you can imagine, blew my 11 year old mind out of the water.
Note the Rei-esque colour palate, as well as his purple clad companion (Dorothy-Ann). Iāll let the shippers conspiracize (Is it a real word? Who knows. Not me).
If youāre still looking for a Rei-Voice fix and arenāt opposed to ingesting some potentially obscure but still iconic Canadian 90ā²s television, you can also see a bb Daniel DeSanto in Dudley the DragonĀ (He is in this very episode as a tiny, tiny, boy). This also blew my 11 year old mind, and I then took to watching episodes of this (despite being a healthy 5-6 years out of the target demo) because my dumb liāl 4 year old brain didnāt yet know Beyblade when I watched it the first time. I was also really weirded out that ACTORS COULD BE IN OTHER THINGS? ALSO HE HAS A PHYSICAL BODY?
Here he is dressed as kind of detective in aforementioned show:Ā
Ā Watch at your own risk. I have a nostalgic memory of this, but I also remember being afraid of it.....specifically of the episode where our boy and co stumble upon THIS SMOKING LEPRECHAUN. Why a leprechaun? Who knows. Why a smoking one? Double donāt know. My sincerest apologies to the great nation of Ireland. TĆ” brón orm, gach duine.
If youāre looking for some spooky time, though, the first big role that we can see the voice of our favourite long locked blader is as Tucker in Are You Afraid of the Dark?, a show that I am still too scared to watch (even though Iām fairly sure itās not meant to be overly scary).Ā
Other notable mentions include Brock from BracefaceĀ and Blaine from my personal favourite Totally Spies!, all the episodes of which have now been uploaded on theirĀ official channelĀ andĀ was at one point on at the same time as Beyblade on another network (I emailed both networks at the time, asking them to consider changing the time. They both refused).Ā
