Per usual, it was almost 3am when Dan decided to head to bed after some late night Internet binging. However, walking into the room, the last thing he expected to see was Phil sitting up as he had gone ahead to bed a few hours prior. Continuing to walk into the room, Dan could see that Phil was just staring off into space and hadn’t even noticed him yet. He walked the rest of the way to the bed and slowly sat down near the end so he didn’t frighten the other.  Upon feeling the bed shift, Phil turned towards Dan and smiled a little. “Decided to join me after all?” he asked.

Dan’s brows drew together with concern as he looked back at Phil “it’s been 2 hours since you said you were going to bed. Have you been zoned out this whole time?” he questioned.

He watched as Phil’s eyebrows shot up and he glanced at the time display on his phone beside him. “I guess so. I was just thinking and I guess I got a little side tracked” he replied sheepishly.

Dan climbed into the bed beside him and pulled Phil towards his chest. Dan asked, “What has you thinking at 3am instead of sleeping?”

Snuggling closer Phil sighed, “My hair. I know its just hair but I’m worried about cutting it tomorrow. What if people don’t like it and they stop watching me? Am I really still AmazingPhil without the fringe?”

Dan lightly pushed Phil back far enough he could see his face and ran a hand through Phil’s hair, leaving his fringe pushed back. “I know it’s scary to change things but a lot of the time the change is a good thing. Remember how much you had to reassure me when I first stopped straightening my hair?” he asked. Phil shook his head yes, so Dan continued, “I was so afraid of how people would react because I had spent so long hating it, but in the end you convinced me it would be ok and I think it turned out for the better. At the very least my hair is definitely healthier” Dan chuckled. He pulled Phil back to his chest and the two snuggled down under the duvet. “Plus look at it this way, I’ve seen you with a quiff for years and I still think you’re pretty fit” Dan laughed.

Phil snorted as he let out a breath. “Yeah I guess you’re right. You embraced your hobbit-ness and everyone still likes you. Maybe being fringeless won’t be so bad” Phil said followed by a yawn.

Dan pressed a kiss to Phil’s forehead as he said “Phil with a quiff is going to be just as amazing as Phil with a fringe. If you really don’t like it, you can always change it again.”
