Ballet is algebra?
Ok so I just thought of this. Ballet class is like an algebra problem! Let me explain:
Let X equal the combination the teacher gives and let Y equal the corrections the teacher gives.
X+Y= you doing the combination with corrections
Example:
Teacher says, “4 tendues en croix. Remember to close to a perfect 5th and pointe your toes in every tendue.”
4 tendues = X Corrections = Y•corrections
X+Y(close to 5th+pointe toes)= you doing the corrected combination
X+(Y•close to 5th) +(Y•pointe your toes)=you doing the corrected combination
This is a polynomial equation!
Person: dance is easy, all you do is point your feet!
Me: would you be so kind as to run into my fist?!
