#dance headcanons

It IS random but it's adorable and I'm into it. This is based purely on vibes alone, debates in the tags and replies are welcome and encouraged.

(list gets more unhinged as the dancing skills decrease)

🕺Counselors Dancing💃

-Club dancing is probably the easiest for all three of you to dance together.

-Bring on the gorgeous man sandwich!

-This is probably the one time where Billy isn’t too worried about PDA. Literally everyone is hanging onto each other in here, plus the fact it’s dark helps loosen him up.

-Hands are everywhere and it’s almost more like clothes-on fucking than dancing if you’re being honest.

-Stu sometimes gets a little out of hand and you’ll have to reign him back in before he gets lost in the crowd. His excitement is catching and adorable.

-There’s no denying he thrives on the party vibe.

-On the other hand, Billy is glued to you the entire time. A chance to get a little risque in public and it not be frowned upon? Hell yeah!

-Plus, in Stu’s words, one of them has to keep an eye on you at all times so they don’t have to smack a bitch for taking liberties with you.

-At home, Stu is definitely the one to just grab you and start leading you around the kitchen at random, humming his own little tune whilst twirling you. The linoleum floor becomes a ballroom under his direction.

-He’s not the best dancer, nor the worst, but what he lacks in skill, he makes up with enthusiasm.

-His moves are fun and light, and never fail to make you breathless with excitement. It’s like he creates your own little world; just between the two of you.

-You’ll have to be the one to keep an eye out though. He doesn’t exactly think ahead when he dips you back.

-He makes it up to you with plenty of kisses and snuggles when it happens.

-When he’s had a great day or a kill goes all according to plan, Billy had been known to sneak up on you and break out a few moves himself.

-Of course, this is done without anyone else seeing. Even Stu has rarely seen Billy actually dance.

-He doesn’t show it off often but he’s got some damn good rhythm. Of course, that didn’t really surprise you when you found out considering how he’s generally quite graceful.

Alright, since I am officially losing my marbles, dancing around my living room while eating licorice, I am here to tell you my very odd dance headcanons for the DSMP characters I know, because for some reason I'm getting sucked into the black hole that is the Dream SMP. Three things before we start:

1. This is more about my impression of the character based on design choice, big actions I know about that happened while they were in-character, so on and so forth.

2. This is meant to be sort of a general "dancing with a partner" thing, not a self-insert thing. I just feel like that's the tiniest bit creepy, y'know? Although this entire thing feels a little creepy. If anybody mentioned in this post comes across it, I am very sorry, I mean no harm. This just popped into my head, so I'm using it as a test run for posts to come.

3. I'm basing most of these partly off of my own style, an odd mix of ballet, a bit of ballroom dancing, and freestyle, so I do mention expression a lot more than you would find in a typical post of this nature.

Anyway, let's go.

1. Technoblade.

This is the first one I ever thought of. It was due to the song 'Woe To The People Of Order', and it was pretty fun. What I imagine his dancing style to be like is...proud. Shoulders back, standing tall, very exact. Arms out to the sides, rarely gesturing, but large, expressive movements do happen.

2. Tommyinnit.

Tommy comes across as very playful, so I tried my best to reflect that here. He almost skips when dancing, shifting from foot to foot quickly. His arms are everywhere at once, quick and light, expressing many emotions simultaneously.

3. Ranboo.

This one, this one is pretty easy. From what I know, Ranboo's pretty awkward, so he really wouldn't do...much? He'd stand there, kinda sway, but he, again, wouldn't do much.

4. Philza.

This one...this one is a cheerful dad. The style's a little folksy, cheerful and free. Arms held out towards his partner, he has a smile on his face.

5. Dream.

Please note, this is the character I know the least about. But, he would be more based around reactions than leading. Almost blocking his partners' movements, he's very sharp and harsh.

And that's all the characters I'm familiar enough with to post something about. I'm uncertain if this will go over well, but I hope you at least enjoy the attempt I made. And thank you, if you have gotten this far, for reading this much.

AHH, I actually hadn’t initially thought of that idea, but Shinshinkai being a dance company sounds perfect! Writing this will vitalize me! - Medinah

Shinshinkai is one of Japan’s biggest national dance recruitment agencies. They recruit people and assign them to potential customers. They also have their own training programs and courses open in a dedicated academy which they amiably named the “Dance Dojo”.

The head of the company, Doppo Orochi, has dance origins in the classic performance arts, but he’s quite lenient to other dance styles because he understands the evolving nature of the industry. 

His son, Katsumi, has been interested in both dance and martial arts since a very young age. He is very naturally a performer and loves to incorporate martial arts into his routines. 

Katsumi’s most recent obsession is capoeira, which is a mish mash of both things he adores; dance and martial arts. 

Katsumi will rip off his top if you give him the opportunity. He says the clothes are restricting and cling to his body when he sweats. 

He has flock of fangirls that approach the company just for a chance to observe on of his sessions. 

Kato is actually one of the ballroom tutors who was taught directly under Doppo. He has an appreciation for the finer things, and this shows in his dance too. 

Kato loves to bust out extravagant suits and clothing when he can. 

Outside of instructing, he has a deep interest in street and hip hop culture, in part because of Suedo. 

Kato can be very intense when instructing, to the point of making his students very shy. They say he has a very deep set charisma that just oozes when he hits the dance floor. 

Will geek out unwillingly when he is impressed by a routine. 

Suedo loves street dance with his life. Formally being part of a street dance crew, he brings much to offer to the Shinshinkai organization. 

One of Suedo’s favourite things is to go and distract Katsumi and Kato by showing off some of his moves and challenging them to do it better. They usually give in because they’re all hot blooded idiots and then they all get scolded by Doppo.

It’s called nimdara and it looks like a very energetic, very athletic form of dancing. The roots of the form lie in a fusion of Tusken dances, Twi’lek traditions, and the fundamental secrecy of Amavikka culture. Defensive techniques are disguised as entertainment, and nimdara dancers perform regularly in the slave quarters and even in the Hutts’ palaces. The masters, for the most part, consider the dancing to be primitive slave entertainment, and therefore nothing important.

they'd be so cute; I feel Sonic is full of energy/fun, Shadow would be technical and precise and needs help learning expressivity/having fun with it. I feel knuckles would be a bit awkward at first but get the hang of it or at least tolerate it to humor someone, idk

Sonic the Hedgehog

He knows how to breakdance, but this hedgehog can’t dance romantically to save his life

Luckily you’re there to teach him!

Sonic is quite a fast and energetic learner, but it still takes him a couple tries

He definitely isn’t a fan of slow dancing, but he tolerates it for your sake

He probably teaches you a few dance moves of his own, and you both just have a great time with it!

Knuckles the Echidna

Knuckles can’t dance to save his life

At least, that’s how it is until you offer to teach him

He’s very clumsy when it comes to dancing, but you assure him he’s doing just fine

He’s honestly just doing it to get you off his back at first, but he starts to have a bit of fun with it

At least until Rouge starts teasing him and he stops dancing, embarrassed

It takes a while to get him to dance with you again

He’ll never admit that he had a good time dancing with you, unfortunately

Stubborn echidna

Shadow the Hedgehog

Shadow hasn’t danced in a long time (50 years to be exact) but he always says he doesn’t dance

But when you offer to teach him, it would be rude to turn you down…

Once you get started, Shadow is quite serious about it, but he’s a faster learner than Sonic

Once he gets into it, he starts having a bit of fun

Start the teasing now, because he’s in a good enough mood to deal with it

Definitely enjoys slow dancing more than Sonic does, and knowing that you enjoy dancing with him makes him happy

Dancing with you allows Shadow to relax more, showing his softer side

Amy Rose

Oh, this girl loves dancing

If anything, she’s the one teaching you!

Regardless, she’s the most energetic and is ecstatic when you ask her to dance with you

From slow dances, to anything, really, Amy probably knows it all
