If Billy could only love one thing, he would pick Damian's smile.
Not his scowl he adorns when things don't go his way (which is often). Not his self-satisfactory smirk when things do go his way. Not the pout he protests the existence of. But the soft smile he has when thinking about Titus and Alfred the Cat. The one so genuine he can't suppress it.

Besides Billy is 100% okay with having unrequited feelings for Damian Al-Ghul Wayne. He has accepted it! There will be no more crying over a non-existent relationship. He is sixteen years old, and Captain Marvel! Not a kid sulking because another kid didn't want to play with them.
Really, it was a blessing in disguise! After all, the previous partners of the past Champions never had very happy endings, or suffered greatly to get one. They were Greek Heroes not Superheroes.
